This place appears typical of older French hotels: tired and crumbly looking from the outside but fine inside. The internal improvements (e.g. in our room) are very good and the place quickly grew on us. We had a very warm welcome and all the staff spoke very good English. On arrival day we decided just to have the table d'hote...

We spent a night visiting friends in the area and were charmed by this cosy place. Service is super friendly and the hotel has old heritage, described in detail in the guestbook in the room. A young couple are managing the place and they converted the hotel to meet environmentally friendly standards. Great location as base for visits to the...

Lovely family run hotel, very friendly. Delicious home made jams for breakfast and very interesting cheese board for dinner. Spacious family room with comfortable beds. Hard working team of hosts always with a smile even during a very busy Easter Weekend.

Dear Madam, thank you for your comment. We are delighted to read your satisfaction about your recent stay. Indeed we are proud to offer only homemade jams for breakfast made if possible of local fruits. Moreover, many of the breakfast products are prepared here (cakes, brioche, fruit salad, pudding...)... we really wish our clients to feel "at home"! Thank you...

Our hosts/the owners are updating and modernising this charming hotel very tastefully. It retains its charm and friendliness and the upgrades are excellent. We were delighted with our junior suite. Warm and homely. The dinner was very tasty and well presented and again,we thought it was even better than our last visit. Breakfast is all you could ask for. A...

As other reviewers have mentioned, the first impression of this hotel from the street is one of disappointment and apprehension, however once inside and/or in the courtyard, all that changes. The young couple who are lovingly restoring the place deserve lots of praise and support. Our room was not in the main building, in fact we had one of the...

We only stopped one night here when travelling south through France but would happily have stayed longer. We had a very well equipped spacious room with excellent bathroom and shower. This is an old building decorated to suit its age but with modern facilities. Sadly it was too cold to enjoy the pool, but we sat in the pretty courtyard...

La Tonnellerie is run by a couple who have long worked in the hotel industry indcluding stints at the Savoy and the Crillon. It shows. The hotel is professionally run. The salon in which to have pre or post dinner drinks, play cards, read etc is welcome. So few French hotels have this kind of guest sitting room. The food...

We stayed in the lowest priced room, which was lovely, spacious and charming. We had a delicious, beautifully cooked and presented meal in the hotel restaurant. The hostess was very pleasant and spoke English, although she was very patient with my halting French. We couldn't have asked for better. Lovely stay and would thoroughly recommend this treasure.

We stayed here for two nights on our way to the south of France and we'll be back. While the street front isn't very encouraging, once through the old gateway one finds a charming, secluded garden with delightful outside dinning and a pool. The hotel style is relaxed slightly "country house" with a comfortable lounge but absolutely nothing stuffy. Our...
