I had to attend a funeral in Canberra and a friend recommended this YMCA (Leumeah Lodge) in suburb of Nicholls, handy to that side of the city off the Barton Highway. This accommodation is very new. If your GPS is old, then No. 48 is not on it! It is located opposite McDonalds and behind KFC. It is lovely, spotless, nicely appointed with very helpful, friendly Reception staff. There are 58 (differing) and all non-smoking, rooms to suit most, including bunkbed rooms used by school groups. As a single, I chose the "Queen" perfectly adequate for a couple - the room, bathroom and shower all spacious, with toiletries and hair dryer provided; the double bed was very comfortable. Air Conditioning and WiFi available with a wall mounted TV, tea/coffee bags & a kettle. There are dining facilities only for Groups but you can order a Breakfast Box the night before from Reception. Parking is available. This Lodge is far superior to many hotels I've stayed in and the cost far less! It was amazingly quiet overnight (a Thursday). I recommend this accommodation.

The room was spacious, good for families. Good location, close to all the major Canberra attractions. It was nice and quiet, no loud neighbours. The only downfall was no tv in the room and the beds were really soft, not ideal if you have a bad back.

Very modern neat clean room. Comfortable beds. Tea and coffee facilities. Tv in room and air conditioning. Lovely big shower and bathroom. Easy late check in and key drop off options. Great for families. Right near kfc and a chemist. Very close to dinosaur museum and cockington gardens.

This place was disappointing. The room was spacious, but that's where the good ends. We got in late and found the room hard to find. It was a cold night, and the split system wasn't working. There was a heater in the room, which indicated that they knew the air conditioner wasn't working. The heater was useless. It was also noisy. We called the number we were given if there were any issues, and they sent security out to give us another heater, which also didn't work. One of the sinks was blocked. There was stains on the bedding, dirty marks on the walls and the shower recess was disgraceful. When my husband addressed this on checkout, they didn't seem to care at all.

Terrible, terrible, terrible. Never coming here EVER again. There were poo and pee stains all over the bathroom wall and on a mattress, hair in the shower, half eaten crackers in cupboards and a crushed up chip on the bed. There were jelly beans all over the floor, no TV, even though promised one and so much stuff hidden behind cupboards and under beds

Hard to find our room, split system not working -1 degrees outside which they were aware as had a useless portable heater in room. Filthy bathroom marks on walls including a previous guests booger wiped on toilet wall. To top it off sinks that don’t drain and little apology from reception when confronted the next day and zero compensation!

The location is really good being very central to a lot of the places on the school's bucket list. It was school trip, the beds were so bad the children slept on the floor and the food terrible so the teachers had takeaway but the students had to suffer. It was just a nightmare.

Good value for money, clean room. Courteous staff at reception and breakfast time. Close to Cockington Garden and Dinosaur Museum. 15 minutes drive to city centre. Will not hesitate to stay again when visiting Canberra.

Stayed here for a couple of nights in two twin rooms with family. Place was clean and quiet. Quite affordable at $130 odd per room per night. While not in the middle of Canberra it is still only 15 mins drive away. 20 MTRS away from KFC, chemist, McDonald's and service station. Nothing to complain about.
