Comfortable room, more than large enough. Comfortable bed. Corner spa. Fixtures and furniture nice quality. No cost for parking. Delightful "free" continental breakfast - very nice. Staff efficient and approachable. There was a pool and gym and sauna; not that we wanted or needed them; they were small time.

Great place to stay. Clean, quiet, plenty of parking. Great bed, clean sheets and towels, spa bath tub. Large size rooms. Pizza, Kebab and Chinese just around the corner. Trouble free check in/out. Could use a toaster but can live without it.

A very nice motel to stay in. The room is very generous and clean, even with a double seater lounge and spa bath. There's everything you need in a motel room. Very quiet area. The ladies at reception with very polite and helpful. Highly recommended.

As I need to book somewhere in the area again I'm reminded of this stay last August.
First room smelt so rank (and the sole window was broken so couldn't be opened) I had to ask to be moved.
Hotel kindly moved me to another room.
Second room smelt fine but had not been properly cleaned. Half-drunk water bottle with old sticking plaster sitting on bedside table.
Then was charged after checkout for something from minibar I didn't take - I assume it was the previous guest, as the room obviously hadn't been properly re-set. I told the hotel I hadn't taken anything from the minibar but they kept the charge.
Won't be booking again.

Finding a great place to stay when you're travelling for work can always be difficult but it was a wonderful surprise to rediscover Gateway on Monash after 4years.
The rooms are impressively large, bright & comfortable, offering ample space to both work and relax. They have been thoughtfully updated, including décor, linen, temperature control and bonus free wifi as well as the usual standards of complimentary hairdryer, coffee & tea making facilities, ironing etc. The complex also has plenty of off-street parking for those requiring it.
The biggest delight however, was not only finding Verona Restaurant & the small attached pre-dinner drink bar (5 O'Clock Shadow) still operating but better than ever!!
The food I ordered was delicious (suggest you definitely taste the Tempura Prawns) and great value and the service from all the staff without fault - well done & many thanks Cameron, Caitlin and Team!
It cannot go without noting, it is obvious the pride and dedication of the staff reflects across all aspects of making this a great place to stay. I'll be lobbying for this to be put on the corporate preferred supplier list.

I was staying in the Gateway because I was teaching at a workshop at the Australian Synchrotron (just down the road). The hotel rooms are spacious and have 32" TVs with 2 channels that show very recent movies around the clock. The bathrooms are clean and they all have spas, which are very nice as well ;) There is also a fitness room and a small pool. Breakfast was good and even served until 10:30 am (very convenient). You will probably only stay here if you have business with the synchrotron or any of the many companies in the area. If you wanna go for a drink, be sure to check out the "Nott", just 1km down the road.
The only issue I had was the internet. Way to expensive and volume-based (A$ 49,95 and 2GB for one week). Hotel nowadays should have free internet (so you pay for it with the room rate), everywhere. Best way to go is buying a prepaid SIM (such as amaysim, 4GB data for ~A$30,-) and tether with your phone.

Room Tip: I had room 10 in the back, which gets less walk-bys by other guests. Was very happy with that!

When I arrived I thought "oh no, old motel" but nothing could have been further from the truth. Whoever designed the rooms, I tip my hat to you - you nailed it perfectly. For starters, there's a large table to eat at and convenient powerpoints so you can work on your laptop on one end and eat at the other. And the rest of the furniture was spot on. There was a fully stocked minibar if you needed it. And the bathroom was modern and sported a full sized spa. But best of all... the real queen sized bed had to be the most comfortable I've ever slept on that wasn't my own. It actually caused me to accidently sleep in which never happens in a motel! Highly recommended!!!

Great little place in Notting Hill Melbourne. On a main road but you con not hear any traffic. Beautiful rooms even a Spa bath in ours. Lovely clean and fresh the minute you step into your room. Very friendly staff who could not have done any more for us. We had room service food on the Sunday night which was as good as we could have expected and then breakfast the next morning in the restaurant was superb. Very inviting surrounds in the restaurant and bar areas. Would recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in the area. Really good value and a great place to spend a night or more.

We stayed in this Hotel under necessity, as it was the only one we were able to book with the short notice. I must say we were very pleasantly surprised once we opened up the room doors.
The rooms were well set out, a decent size and most importantly clean.
We found that the rooms were quiet, and very well sound proofed (apart from people talking out the front of your room). There was an annoying ticking sound that came from the ceiling fan, forcing us to shut it off if we intended on sleeping.
Our only complaints were that the bathroom exhaust fan was not big enough for the size of the bathroom, causing the bathroom to fill with steam and take a long time to dissipate. We also found getting in and out of the hotel driveway difficult depending on which direction you were driving to or from. These are extremely minor things and are easy to live with.
We would definitely consider staying at the Gateway on Monash again.
