What a fantastic resort! The rooms were a tad small but the balcony and views made up for it. I only wish there was a bathtub. The room was also kept incredibly clean although I am on the messy side. Regarding the spa, Sirinan gave me the most amazing massage. She has magical hands. Don't miss it and do the 85 min. Also, the breakfast food at Trader Vics was absolutely scrumptious; best Eggs Bennie I've ever had. Many thanks to the culinary talents of Chef Austen and his assistant, Chef Ali. Even their dinner menu is excellent, and the live music creates a wonderful ambience. This restaurant and resort are truly wonderful and not to be missed. All of the staff have been so cordial, courteous, and exceptionally accommodating. Many thanks to the staff and Admin. for making my first trip to Muscat so memorable. I will miss their sparkling pools and gorgeous beach area. I will definitely be coming back!

From my personal review provided on Booking.com Liked - Check in: All smiles, pleasant and well conversed staff. The check in was quick and efficient. The staff asked if I required assistance with our luggage. Room: Our room was located on the third floor of the renovated sea view wing. We have to say that now, the InterContinental looks like a breath of fresh air! Although the room and bathroom were small, it was decent for a couple who is staying for a day or 2. The room and bathroom were completely renovated and the amenities provided gave the room a new edge for travellers to feel that the money spent was well worth it (considering the current situation at this time). Our room had a king size bed with fresh linen and super soft pillows. The work desk had its own power, HDMI, USB, audio jack and BT deck. The bedside table had an iHome system that can connect your iPhone and/or Android phone with ease. The TV was small but had a good selection of channels to browse. The welcome info was very good to watch and learn about the hotel. The TV included a Bose sound system that connects to your electronics via BT. The room also had a small balcony that overlooks a part of the children and general swimming pool, the majority of the adult swimming pool, the swimming pool of the W hotel, and an awesome view of the sea. The room also had a mini bar and a nice selection of tea (by Twining’s) and coffee (by Nespresso). The bathroom comes well stocked with the basic amenities and more are provided upon request such as dental, vanity and shaving kit. The cupboards are stocked with hangers for your clothes, 2 bathrobes, 2 sets of slippers, an iron stand and an iron and an emergency torch. The HK team was super-efficient and all smiles. Breakfast: We were greeted by our host who ushered us to our table with a nice view of the garden. Staffs were efficient and quick to provide our food, which was plentiful from the order list. Check out: All smiles, pleasant and well-conversed staff. Check out was quick and efficient.
Disliked · Room: There was no laundry bag but a laundry list. HK had provided it after requesting it. During check out, I was informed that the laundry bag was provided upon request only. Some of TV channels did not work. Although it was not important for us, we did not inform engineering to assist. However, the engineering and IT team could randomly visit vacant rooms to test things out. During breakfast, the servers forgot to provide 2 items from our breakfast list. We did not inform the staff because we were already full from what was provided. The steak provided to me was not hot and had too much BBQ sauce on it. It should have been provided on the side.

We are residence here in Muscat since several years and this is our favorite place to visit. Specially my kids, they always prefer to come here at pool. We took day access package just because my kids wanted to use pool and hotel don’t allow regulars to use pool but the pool package was really worth for money and we had great time. The room was nice furnished after renovation and you will find all you need. A very warm and friendly staff at Tomato, you feel welcome from the first minute. We enjoyed complimentary water at pool and Kamaal pool waiter will make you smile always. We had lunch at Tomato with 2 meal included with package, food was delicious from new menu and as usual manager Geeta and her team were very helpful and friendly, we had small issue with housekeeping and she has fixed nicely with speedily. We always loved their hospitality and personal touch that will make us feel special. A big thank you and highly recommended!!

There are two suggestion of modifications: 1- Please solve delay in clean room service because there was many hours delay in cleaning service after request. 2- The hotel is so crowded in weekend holidays and it is dangerous for the resident gusts to use facilities of the hotel as pool, restaurant and etc. due to Coronavirus issues.

Facilities you gonna get in Room: Size was good, Balcony, Room is equipped with Study table, study light, Single Sofa, TV with Chromecast option Washroom fully equipped with hair dresser mirror lightning, shower, complete towel range, Very neat and clean rooms, iron, Coffe machine. Light in room was not so bright not so dull ( I prefer more bright so for me it was a little less)
Food: Good western food room service also there is an option to order from Tomato restaurant. it was a bit pity i was not able to get Pakistani food really miss Pakistani cuisine Due to my 2 month long stay, but Hotel team tried to provide through room service some desi food which was ok. Hotel Facilities: Huge Garden, Gym, Kids Pool, Kids play area, Swimming pool, Beach access, table tennis, Café, Restaurants, Ball Room, Meetings area and many more.
One thing what I dislike for room cleaning no one bother the cleaning sign, Every day you have to call on reception and they arrange it as per their convenience. Cleaning Team was Best in their work but Cleaning management was a bit below the mark.

Beautiful location and amazing hotel with excellent pool. Five star service all the way with attention given to the smallest of details this time. Every single member of staff from pool restaurant was refilling water to the guest in restaurant. Lovely atmosphere with excellent service. Special mention to Manager Geeta and Suvik, it’s really good to see her back. It just perfect.

Pro: Impeccable service from reception and breakfast staff, they are excellent. Friendly, accommodating and just very good at their jobs. Very clean and comfortable room: King Seaview premier. Good bed, great pillows. Aircon works exceptionally well. Clean and well appointed bathroom. Room service was exceptionally quick.
Con: Phoned reservations because website reservation wasn't working. Man in reservations was rude, terrible customer attitude; he insisted the hotel website quoted price was incorrect, strongly implying I was reading it wrong. I wasn't and had to read out the same info a few times to him. He went away and came back and grudgingly gave the website quoted price, no apology. Not a good experience. Room service for dinner (restaurants are not currently open in the evenings) was not good quality except for the prawns. Chicken Caesar salad - chicken was tough, salad lacked flavour. Lamb chops were very tough and gamey (mutton perhaps?), couldn't finish the chops. No sauce offered with the chops. No toiletries in the bathroom such as razor, comb, etc provided. Only soap and bath liquids. The room has a balcony but no outside furniture provided. News channels such as CNN etc advertised on the TV but didn't work. In room Nespresso machine did not work properly, large cup button had to be constantly pressed to get a cup of coffee. I own one so I know it should only have to pressed once.

Thank you Intercon Muscat for a giving us frontliners special offer 🥰🥰🥰. A much needed break and relaxation. Our whole stay was superb, spotless room, relaxing view from our room balcony facing the sea while sipping nespresso coffee, listening to the chirping birds and ocean waves. Magnificent lobby interiors. The breakfast buffet was so satisfying. The best part was , I was able to enjoy the 12.3ft deep swimming pool, it was so challenging. The male receptionist who checked me in was slightly arrogant and a bit off-putting. I stayed in a sea view room with king bed which was lovely. Bed, linen and pillows were comfy and towels were plentiful - all high quality. The beachfront location was great for early morning walks which also had a good view of the coast and bay. I thought the breakfast and room service food was excellent. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of food which was of very high quality. Tomato Restaurant was also very nice. I used the lap pool each day of my stay. It was very clean, deep enough and a perfect temperature. The surrounding areas were also well maintained and attractive. The pool attendant was helpful and courteous. Mr. Ahmed al Belushi who checked me out was extremely, generous, helpful and pleasant.

18th November holds a special place for us every year. As parents we look forward to celebrate our elder sons birthday and the fact that it falls on the Oman National Day makes it all the more special. This time taking advantage of the wondrous National Day special offers we decided to head on to The Intercontinental Muscat. This was the first time for us to experience the hospitality at the Grand Dame of Muscat or as it affectionately called. Check in was smooth, having an IHG loyalty card is extremely beneficial. As requested we were assigned to a room on the 6th floor with fascinating views of the Arabian Sea. The rooms have been recently refurbished and the new look is very elegant with latest technology implemented. The rooms are quite large and airy providing perfect stay options for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids. Dinner and breakfast were quite good . Despite limited options on the menu the food preparation was top notch and flavour some. Breakfast menu is a slightly more expansive and it's a good option to be seated outside in the pleasant weather. The property has 3 pools, one is a lap pool for students and members, one for the hotel guests and this one is a beauty shaped like an 8, it offers ample spaces to lounge and perfect to cool down for kids and adults alike. There is a small kids pool adjacent to the lap pool but most prefer the leisure pool. The property has a beautiful lawn lined with date palms and it makes for some very relaxing walks in the evening. In house restaurants like Takara and Tomato offer different cuisines suited to different guest palettes. Overall we were very satisfied with our stay and would surely recommend it for an enjoyable staycation

Hi top123456. We only booked bed and breakfast and eat out most evening in local restaurants, which on average was at least 50% cheaper than the hotel restaurants. However the quality of the food in the hotel is excellent. A meal for two in Trader Vics Asian Fusion restaurant on site would be approx OR 30-40 for a couple. We found the Kumar restaurant in the Real Opera House complex and you got a very good meal for two with soft drinks only for approx OR20-25 per couple. Try also Slider Dave's

"Muscat is spread out, expect to use taxis, which are a bit pricey. Hotel is next to the opera...if you can, book a show. There is a tiny mall (one basic food shop) nearby."
