If you don't need to be located close to the city centre this motel is a good place to stay. About 10 km from the city, even if your room doesn't have the best view you can walk or picnic in the green area on the waterfront that is part of the precinct.
I appreciated the plastic table and chairs indoors that may not look the "prettiest" but are certainly more hygienic that fabric covered furniture!

the room is really dated, no air-con, it was a hot day on the day i checked in, only a 'nearly fall apart' pedestal fan, the worst is no window! Could have opened the glass door that faces the river, but all the bugs or even ducks (very cute though) could have gone inside the room. smoking is prohibited inside the room, but people smoking outside of their room and u can smell it inside.

I think the motel got a lot potential if they renovate the whole property, the river view is worth a million bucks!

Enjoyed our stay in 2 Bedroom unit with extra single bed in large lounge area. Well priced for the school holidays, the kids enjoyed feeding the ducks each morning.

Nothing fancy, but full kitchen with all you need, easy walk in shower and washing machine in bathroom. 2 comfortable sofas in front of TV, air con works well for Hobart cold winter nights. Free wifi, suitable for checking emails etc.

Spotlessly clean through out, only about 20 min from Hobart CBD, but closer to Glenorchy shopping areas. Can see the river from front door. Parking right beside unit and only 1 small step onto front veranda.

Grandsons enjoyed the tennis court, can probably borrow rackets from reception but we took our own. Will definitely stay at this Motel again.

Delivered everything it said it would. We looked out onto the River Derwent, the ducks came as promised and we had a beer on the patio watching the river and the mountains beyond.
The onsite restaurant had a very reasonable menu and good price bar and the wifi worked quite well (good for Tasmania).
The welcome was nice and friendly and we would recommend the place to anyone travelling through or looking for a base whilst discovering this part of the state without the city annoyances.

Experience the feel of the 1960s in this genuine period motel which still has most of its original features, with a few modern touches. We didn't stay at the motel but we did eat in the restaurant. The food is very good and is at a reasonable price, with a good selection of alcohol and soft drinks, and tea and coffee.

I had to complete a few circular routes off Brooker Highway as I kept bypassing the entrance. We had booked a Riverview Motel Room and certainly enjoyed the location and lovely views of the gardens, river and nearby mountains. All welcoming and efficiency at reception, everything ready for our 2 night stay, great advice on restaurant and other facilities and a very good selection of brochures for attractions, both local and further afield. Parking in front of the Unit, very good facilities although a little dated, another comfortable bed. Checkout easy.

We stayed in the motel part. For right on the highway traffic wasn't as bad as expected. View was great from upstairs and rooms on the river front. Rooms were solid besser brick did keep heat in but there was a fan and heater in the room, young workers couldn't be heard. Fridge, ironing board and iron. Rooms were clean. For budget accommodation cant complain. Food review separate

The room was a typical budget style motel with frig and tea making facilities. It was spotlessly clean and staff were welcoming and helpful. It would be ideal for families with a children's playground and swimming pool. The restaurant has a large menu which also caters for room service. The location is ideal and very quiet.

Located pretty close to Hobart (depending on traffic), it’s a strategic place to stay avoiding Hobart centre, especially if you’ve a car.
Motel-style, you park just outside your room.
Inside it’s clean and, depending on the position, can be quiet or not so much due to a busy highway close by.
A nice park and lake in the area.
Breakfast was pretty good, dinner is possible, as well as room service.

This motel is just off the main highway heading through Hobart. Short taxi, bus or drive to the CBD. Restaurant on site. Very reasonable prices. Various types of accommodation from budget motel rooms, through to villas or a house! Grounds are neat and tidy with resident ducks. Our villa faced the Derwent River and included a small deck. Some might say it is slightly dated, but we found it very pleasant and clean. Quiet and peaceful. Villa had basic cooking facilities. We were a bit far away to have breakfast delivered as we were in one of the far villas, however we were able to order breakfast and walked along the foreshore and picked it up ourselves. Happy with that. Will definitely stay again.
