The serene and spacious property, is beautifully situated amidst tropical forest at the edge of a neighboring village, with views to the sacred volcano Mount Batukaru and the Oos River. At a slightly higher elevation than Ubud, the air is fresh and invigorating with added avail in relation to the Retreat experience.

Detailed Reviews
If you want to have the perfect escape at a luxurious resort with the absolute best service, I recommend you to stay at Komaneka at Tanggayuda.
My wife and I stayed here for one week, for our second honeymoon, and we had an absolutely excellent experience.
We have been to Ubud a number of times, and we consider it the best place on Bali for culture and relaxation. This was our first time at a Komaneka resort.
From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel at home by the excellent welcome from the staff and assistant GM of the hotel.
We had booked a valley pool villa, and the photos did not really do this villa justice. It is a fully equipped and stylishly decorated villa that really has everything you need, with an extremely comfortable bed, full bath and shower facilities, an Apple TV and Nespresso coffee maker, and daily fresh fruits and snacks.
Outside our villa, both the gazebo and the private pool offer a relaxing view of the valley with nature and all its tropical sounds surrounding you. The area is quite secluded, you take a dip in the pool while surrounded by flowers, the sounds of birds and crickets, and a squirrel hopping from tree to tree right in front of you. While my wife and I were in the pool, a small yellow-feathered Iora bird came in for a very quick dip in the pool right next to us, and flew off again. It is this kind of immersion in nature that really adds to the experience.
The resort has three other magnificent pools, but the comfort of your own villa is such that you don’t really feel the need to go anywhere else.
Twice per day turndown service is excellent with staff going out of their way to make you feel at home. They get the little details right - staff you’ve never met before that know your name, any request needs to be made only once and staff will remember it throughout your stay.
A couple of months before our stay, I had arranged a number of special add-ons with the hotel for our stay, including spa treatments and the famous red light special dinner (highly recommended!). Without needing to reconfirm, the hotel staff arranged everything flawlessly, including making the special dinner a complete surprise for my wife (per my request), which made that evening extra special.
The service at the spa is truly excellent and highly recommended. The food at the restaurant is delicious. They get the various dishes absolutely right, not only can you enjoy true Balinese and Indonesian dishes, but the International dishes are equally of a perfect standard. For cocktails, try the turmeric kudus, absolutely delicious. For dessert, try the absolutely amazing melted chocolate cake.
It was quite sad to have to say goodbye to all the friendly staff at the end of our stay, however we take comfort in the fact that we will be back at Komaneka at Tanggayuda. If you want to have a stay that is guaranteed to be perfect, I recommend you to book your stay here.

i was inviting by a friend to visit an exhibition at Komaneka Gallery,
once i enter the main lobby, guess what? the truly living balinese is there, smile, calm, nature, were so in line.
then i realised im in the middle of magical place named Komenaka.
Komaneka is a Small boutique hotel with every unique services you can experience here in ubud.
Remote natural location within a 20-minute drive of downtown Ubud
to me , I feel like more homie and close to nature , then i enter the Galery met Mr Donald and Ibu Mensri, i share a photo below of one of mr Donald ( the artist) masterpiece .
I wish i could stay longer, and enjoy Komaneka more and more, i feel like this is not just a place to stay, to relax or away from the busy routine but also you will educated your self with so many things here inside komaneka.
•The Art Gallery
• The Traditional details on every corner of this resort always catches my eyes
• The balinese hidden treasure, meet bu sri and she will explain you all good things that you missed while in Bali.
Having my Lunch at The Outstanding Resturant
with jungle view and ofcourse swimming pool. those are my fav instagram spot . you should try

The hotel was beautiful. Really splendid location with great views and amazing rooms. We had a private pool villa and it was the best experience. Our package included the Balinese massage (one of the best in my life), one lunch and dinner, a half day tour and snacks in the room. They went above and beyond to make us comfortable and it was an amazing and relaxing experience.
In addition, we took a cooking class and our chef Beni was the sweetest. Food was amazing and the experience was unforgettable.
Thank you so much!

I had the pleasure of staying at this Komaneka Resort and as with all of the groups hotels and resorts it was nothing short of amazing. The location is high on the hill with breathtaking views across the valleys taking in the rice fields and lush jungle.
The rooms are tastefully designed and built and spotlessly clean with great ambience and views.
The staff as always professional, friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this venue for a stay or to visit the very high quality restaurant.

My partner and myself have stayed with Komaneka 14 out of our last 15 stays in Bali over the last 21 years. I have never reviewed the property before however after the last stay I feel it is time.
Upon arrival your are treated sincerely and as a valued person and I don’t say this because of our regularity, I see it as every guest arrives. This warmth only continues throughout the hotel from the room staff to gardeners, security and restaurant staff. It truly feels like a home not a resort.
The rooms are amazing and we have experienced all levels. They are all clean, well appointed and the servicing in impeccable. If you find something that needs fixing nothing is too hard and all work is done so as not to intrude. We love the Valley View Pool Villas and 102 is our favourite, however all are just as impressive.
The activities that the resort offers caters to all ranges of tastes and I can thoroughly recommend the batik activity run by Ade. It is awesome as you really gain a new appreciation for wax resist and the patience required to create exquisite fabric. They can also provide a down hill cycling experience like no other.
The food is great and nothing is too hard. If you honestly don’t see anything in the menu at breakfast you like they will work to ensure you are satisfied. Great work all round.
All we can say is that although it is out of Ubud and the traffic varies with the season Komaneka at Tanggayuda is THE place to stay if you are romantic, looking for tranquillity, or just simply looking to escape from the rat race. A stay here will surely not disappoint.

We stayed here for 5 nights as part of our honeymoon. The staff are very attentive and friendly and the attention to detail the hotel provides is second to none, eg turn down service and extra in room eg bug spray and adapters. The breakfast was excellent with so much variety and is different each morning. We ate at the hotel once for lunch and once for dinner and it was delicious. We stayed in a pool valley room view and cannot fault anything about the hotel, we loved it.

Expected a little more glamour (like better food & softer beds) but everything was OK. I guess we expected sexy and got a little more kid-friendly with babies shrieking at all hours. Villas have paper thin walls so expect to hear & be heard. Boy, did we hear…
The resort itself is gorgeous and and the grounds are very well kept. They sweep and prune and pick up leaves every day to make sure it’s gorgeous. The pools are pristine. I don’t think you can beat how pretty it is. I definitely recommend a villa with a private pool facing the jungle and rice terraces off in the distance. The villas were super spacious and the staff did a great job of cleaning, making beds/turndown derives when we were out.
Food was kind of “ehh” for lunch & dinner but breakfast was always good (you get quite a bit of bang for your buck if you do breakfast included).
The staff is amazing though. Everyone was genuinely happy to help and make sure you had everything you needed. Def recommend the tours they offer with a driver for day trips.
Bottom line, if you’re fine with a little bit of a lumpy bed, the occasional loud neighbor and kiddo, this is a true gem. We are cantankerous New Yorkers that sought quiet comfort on our honeymoon.

This was our first time Ubud so we weren’t sure what to expect.
We are seasoned travellers and the hotel exceeded our expectations, and we were more than happy with all aspects - friendly staff, good food, great massages nice interior and exterior design.
We had a jungle view suite which was spacious and nicely laid although some slight renovations are due, but nothing serious. The hotel was in a quiet location just outside the main town and felt quite private. We rented a motorbike which was useful and only cost £7 a day.
We will definitely stay here again and look forward to our next visit.

We booked for this hotel for a family reunion and gathering for the New Years celebration.
While we wanted to be in Ubud, we were also seeking a bit of an urban escape given how busy Ubud can get during peak season.
We couldn't have found a more charming and inviting place to stay.
Importantly, it is a Balinese-owned hotel and this really comes through in all aspects of the experience.
The service is what people talk about when they speak of Balinese hospitality - friendly, approachable, warm.
The hotel has so many areas to just whittle away the days and enjoy the lush tropical surroundings. It has 3 pools spread over the grounds, lots of little daybed type and lounge type seating to allow oneself to feel at home. As a result, even at peak, the hotel never feels crowded or overrun.
A few traveler tips - enjoy the small but charming rooftop bar at sunset or the wonderful spa treatments.

We had a lovely stay at Komeneka Tangayyuda. The staff were lovely and friendly, the villa and jungle/rice paddy views were wonderful and the breakfast/food was good too. I never thought I’d enjoy fried rice for breakfast but I am a converted woman!
It’s a little way out of Ubud city centre so it’s not the best location if you want to be in the thick of things, but we didn’t, so we didn’t mind this at all.
The staff and service was particularly impressive here. Nothing was too much trouble and every request was met with a smile. We loved the option of complimentary room service if we needed or fancied it at any point.
I’m sorry, I can’t recall her name but one lovely lady at the front of house arranged for us to have complimentary afternoon tea whilst we waited for our driver to pick us up to take us to the airport even though we had checked out hours before. This was, I thought, a brilliant example of excellent customer service. Thank you in particular to her!
My parents are hoping to visit Bali in the next couple of years and I have recommended that they stay here. We also hope to return one day!

This was, I thought, a brilliant example of excellent customer service. Thank you in particular to her!
My parents are hoping to visit Bali in the next couple of years and I have recommended that they stay here. We also hope to return one day!
