Without doubt one of the favorite villas I stayed during my holiday in Bali ! Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the staff and general manager Mr. Buchari, and all services provided accordingly to our needs. We feel like doing honeymoon again which was not expected this and it turned to become most memorable one. The staff was extremely friendly, the food in the restaurant was very delicious, the breakfast tray deserves a special thank, which obviously also added up to the experience.

We stayed here for a week between Christmas and new year. The staff are very friendly and will do all they can to make your stay memorable. The rooms are clean and a good sized outdoor bathroom. You have A lovely plunge pool just to yourselves. The food menu is limited however it’s very good and cooked lovely and well presented. We were invited to join their annual end of year staff party, which was fun to watch and we enjoyed some of the local foods too. We also dined for a couple of evenings at the restaurant in the Black Penny Villas which is the sister hotel to Ubud Padi Villa with panoramic views not to be missed. There are some nice local walks through the Padi fields to be enjoyed.
Thank you to all the staff for such an enjoyable stay with you.

Would recommend this place as your place for relaxing and enjoying your time in the villa. The manager and staffs are very helpful, even though the pool is not big but comfortable with a clean pool. With many selections of breakfast, it will appetite you during breakfast time. The sad thing that I cannot stay long since my holiday is almost finished.

It is a beautiful little place tucked away in the lush area of ubud. It's far up into the mountainous / jungle vibes part of Bali. It's peaceful, pretty and private. The staff are amazing, food is good and they offer a free shuttle to central ubud. My family and I loved our 3 day stay.

This place was exactly what I wanted it to be. I flew from Perth, Australia to Denpasar, Bali and was met by the hotel's driver after I exited arrivals with my luggage. Nooni drove me to Ubud, about an hour and 15 minute trip by van. He had a cooler with nice cold water waiting when I got in, which was glorious as I'm from Colorado and not used to such humidity. Nooni's command of the English language is quite good and I peppered the poor guy with lots of questions on the drive, he is also a skilled driver. I didn't know they drive on the left in Bali, and I wouldn't have wanted to contend with the traffic and chaos. When we arrived in Ubud, Nooni parked the van in a company shared parking lot and my bags and I transferred to a golf cart. The golf cart whisked me down a little alley way and deposited me at the entrance to the hotel. Penny helped check me in and explained about breakfast and meals and gave me tea and fresh fruit. Penny speaks wonderful English and made everything welcoming and relaxing. She showed me around my villa and explained the spa options and the excursions that were on offer. The hotel has scheduled times that can take you to Ubud center and you can get picked up at scheduled times, or arrange a time you want for a small fee. The drop off site at the center of town is filled with shopping and an easy walk to the Sacred Monkey Sanctuary, which I enjoyed for several hours and took a ridiculous amount of photos. I agree with the reviews that say a villa with a view of the rice paddies is quite beautiful, but I had a jungle view. I liked this view because it afforded me privacy when I swam, and I had many birds flying around in front of me, big, beautiful, colorful birds. The hotel grounds have lush flowers and trees, I sometimes ate in the courtyard, but mostly ate on my deck in my villa to watch the jungle. I reserved the large pool side table one evening so I could eat while watching the rice paddies. I was there six days, I had four different massages while there. The prices were so reasonable I didn't feel guilty getting one so often. There's a spa treatment where after the massage you're rubbed down with an herbal mixture that exfoliates your skin, then fresh yogurt is applied, when that dries you bath in a petal strewn bath. My skin looked and felt amazing. I also had the facial. I was shocked when I looked in the mirror, I looked a good fifteen years younger. I signed up for an excursion that lasted most of one day. My tour guide/ driver took me to a nearby Hindu water temple, a terraced view of rice paddies and another Hindu temple featuring a water fall and Buddhist enclave. I almost fell into one of the pools at the water temple, the walk way is slippery and I leaned over too far. My nice new camera and I would have gone all the way in if not for the driver's quick reflexes. He grabbed my arm and kept me from falling in the rest of the way, only one pant leg got soaked. That's just one example from many on how friendly and caring the staff at this hotel are. After touring around the jungle one afternoon I came home feeling quite drained from the heat and humidity and stopped at the desk to ask that some coconut water be sent to my villa. The young man at the desk sadly told me they had no coconuts. I said no problem, I'd like some watermelon juice instead. After I got to my room the front desk called and asked how many coconuts I wanted. They sent a young man up a tree with a machete to get me a fresh young coconut. I was so worried someone would get hurt but they just laughed and asked if I wanted the water in a glass or in the coconut. Well of course I wanted it in a coconut, so two young ladies brought me two coconuts with drinking holes carved into them and I drank my weight in fresh coconut water, right out of the dodge ball size shells. The food is fresh and flavorful. They grow the pineapple and I think the watermelon on site. So get the pressed juices, especially the ones with watermelon, pineapple or ginger, they are amazing. My favorite meals were the fried noodles with little shreds of chicken, the porridge, and the pizza. I ate every meal at the hotel. Breakfast came with the cost of the room, but I knew the place was clean, and all the food was professionally prepared. I never had stomach issues then entire time I was there (7 days, 6 nights). The room was large and the bed was very comfy. I loved having a plunge pool five steps from my bed. The outside bathroom was charming. The closet has slots on the door, so I made sure I shook my clothes incase there were any bugs in them. I think I saw a mosquito one or two times, but they are not present in any real quantity. One of the drivers took me to a place to get some wood carvings. The place sold items of high quality, and when I returned to Australia I had the items inspected at customs and all passed muster. There were lots of Australians in Bali, and some were of the opinion that it's not worth bringing wood items back as the customs agents can charge more to treat infected items then it cost to buy them. I felt the Aussies complained a bit too much about this and I got through customs very quickly, with all my pieces and for no extra charge. And this was on a day that customs and border control agents went on strike at Perth International airport. So if you're going to Australia after Bali, do declare your items. Don't risk the penalty. I recommend making sure you are taken to a reputable establishment, which the hotel can help you with. There were many beautiful art galleries, and I wish I had bothered Nooni to take me to see some local paintings, but I got into a routine and forgot to ask. When I got back to the US I remembered one piece in particular that caught my eye. At the time I was worried about how to get such a large painting home, but I wish I had at least asked some questions. I did buy some truly beautiful wood art and jewelry that gets loads of compliments. The silver work in Ubud is amazing in its intricacy. The US dollar goes very far there. It was unusual to be at one hotel for so long, most people stay for a few days then move on to another area of the island. I'm not a party gal, I just wanted a relaxing and exotic local, which I definitely got. When I go back I will spend a few days in Ubud again, at this hotel again, then go to a beach area to do some snorkeling. I walked around the area near the hotel by myself and never felt unsafe or harassed by anyone. As a lady traveling alone I never felt unsafe, the Balinese I interacted with were welcoming, wonderful and funny. The island of Bali is magical, you can feel it in the air, it permeates everything. I don't know another word that better describes this place.

When I see the amount of positive comments it's hard to say what I went true...

Upon arrival we got 12 ants on the bed and the bed sheets where full of holes and weird marks on it..

we asked them to change those and the new ones also had holes in it.. But were at least clean.

Villa 6 is the villa you don't want to stay in.. The window that access to the pool are not properly finished. The glass leaves an open space of 2/3 cm which allows mosquitos and ants to walk in your room at night.
we had a bird net on top of ceiling so we could hear something moving all night.. (birds of course)

We had everyday many ants and mosquitos.

Lights were not working, the tap was locked because it's finishing wasn't properly done we had to move it around to evacuate the water..

One day I had a huge spider in the bathroom I killed it with the spray as it was running everywhere.. And they cleaned all around but didn't remove the spider.

If you ask the reception for a taxi they will drop you with pleasure but they will charge you 3 times the price of a normal taxi. Luxury hotels were we went for diner asked us less for the same ride we paid 1/3 of the price that Padi Villas asked.

The swimming pool was so cold that we could not use it at all! Why? Because they don't activate the hot water pump to get it at a usable temperature.

At the end of the stay I had back pain because of the bed mattress..

We got awake once by one person of the staff entering the villa when we did placed the "do not disturb sign on the door!"
The breakfast is not really good and mainly cold.. (for the eggs..)

The free foot massage that they offer is useless.. 15minutes massage and 0 pressure from the therapist.

Let's not even talk about the fact that we had a family on the left with a baby crying all night long.. And on the right Chinese people yelling at each other all evening and morning..

You can hear everything from other villas so there is no privacy.

We met one person in villa 1 that couldn't sleep because of many issues and also because of something really loud in his ceiling..

Well I'll never go there again that is for sure!

The staff is friendly but not always professional...

If you go do not pick villa 1 or 6 and ask for prices before taking villa's taxi.
Check for bugs, ants and mosquito in the bedsheets also.
