This is the place for the nature lover, the person that likes to get off the beaten track, or who just wants to travel on a budget, We've been visiting Modessa for many years, just keep coming back. I feel that the resort offers a great value as long as you have reasonable expectations. Expect lodgings to be clean and...

Beautiful small island, helpful staff, decent cooking, great snorkeling. For vegetarians, we brought our own tofu and they prepared it and served it. Land birds were few on the seven hectors (Eurasian tree sparrows, brown shrike, Tabon scrubfowl (saw once off trail), kestrel-like pair of raptors. On the lowtide flats, Malaysia plover, greater sand plover, grey backed Tattler, Eurasian Curlew,...

Stayed at the resort for 2 nights in February 2017. Really wonderful place, beautiful beach, very relaxed friendly staff, basic but comfortable accommodation. The Place is great for snorkelling and saw loads within ten minutes of jumping in: Baracuda, Stone Fish Scorpion Fish, Puffa Fish, Black tip sharks - they are small and very harmless, stingrays, Giant Cuttle fish, plus...

It is a family beach, the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle and the bright lights of the city. It was about 45 min boat ride from Roxas. The staff were friendly and very helpful, food was great too .... most of the time we just ate to our heart's desire and after sat by the shore and drank...

If you want a lot of water sports then dont go to modessa , nor if you are a picky and hard to please traveler this island resort is not for you! However if you are a writer, lovers, families and friends who wants solitude , peace and quiet then this island is just right. Snorkling, scuba diving and kayaking...

Very nice resort on a tiny island close to Palawan/Roxas. Very very nice servicestaff and especially Simon keeps things going with his friends. Always ready to help with a smile and quick reply-his humor makes the world go around. Management: take good care of him! The food is fine and varies after your choice - sometimes buffet. Very good breakfast...

You have to make do with what you get! Once a backpacker retreat but seems to have tried to go a bit more upmarket with some of their accommodation. Staff friendly and try to be helpful but various forces in place which hampers them. Shown a very full menu on arrival which looks good but the choice us always limited...

Modessa Island is a small island ( Sand bar !) reached by a half hour boat ride from Roxas. Pick up times vary to suit the lodge. It can accommodate +/- 50-70 guests in various hut styles and is fully inclusive of all meals. Power is on all night and at lunch time but the internet is atrocious. A small...

The island is really amazing. Peaceful. The bungalows are direct on the beach so its really romantic. However the food is really really bad, which brings down the rating.. They are often out of food so you have very limited choices. One night one girl who was vegetarian only could eat rice and cucumber and tomatoes. You also need to...

The beach is a dream! Wonderful coral sand, clear water. We say in the still warm water, drinking a beer watching the sunset, whilst fish swam and jumped around us and sea birds hunted... truest magical. Great snorkelling also. Salt water showers, annoying, but I just filled a bottle with fresh water from the dispenser and rinsed with it after...
