I stayed 1 week in Lodge 4 which was a short distance back from the beach, 15 m or so. Very short walk to the restaurant which served excellent food. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The weather was not so good, but it was the rainy season!

I visited Kimbilio in December 2016 with a friend. We were unexpectedly allocated a beach front bungalow which was quite large and had a lovely sea breeze. It was situated just above the the high tide mark and certainly made it a quick walk to have a dip in the ocean. This is something you don't get in many places...

I stayed in Kimbilio a while ago, and loved my time there! The food is absolutely delicious (and they catered for my vegetarian diet) and it is incredible to see how much they could do with the limited options of the market in Kilwa. Every day they were able to come up with something different to eat and it was...

Kimbilio Beach Lodge is a charming lodge that you don't want to miss while traveling around southern Tanzania. The bandas are located directly on a beautiful beach, they all have modern bathrooms, comfortable beds & nice furnishings. The staff are friendly & helpful, especially the manager who pays attention to all the guests on a daily basis. For dinner the...

Coming from Dar es Salaam by public transportation is quite an adventure and will take you between 6-9hours. The Lodge is close to the bus-station and with a ''tuk tuk'' reachable in 5min. We have been at the lodge over x-mas in 2016 and stayed for 5 Days. The Lodge is situated at a beautiful beach. The hotel has around...

It is a nice and relaxing place on the beach. Laid back and simple. Nice staff. The difficulty about the review is the fact that in a way there is nothing wrong with the place but on the other hand it might be a bit too simple and I think therefore it is a bit overpriced. Banda’s are nice however...

Thanks for your nice comments. We are pretty pleased you understand the problems to bring stuff down in Kilwa from Dar: a shopping expedition by car in Dar take us 2 days and 800 km round trip. And we must bring back in Kilwa from Dar everything, including wine and beer, beside the fresh food (fish and veggies are from...

Quiet place to relax. Food is great I particularly loved the way they prepared our dinner (sea food menu). The staff are so welcoming. Jamal and Betty are very patient people . The rooms need improvement but I dont mind the heat at night. Still, if something can be done, GREAT! I want to go back soon!

Kimbilio lodge is a perfect place to be. The setting is gorgeous; right on the beach. You can hear the soft thud and swish of the waves at night as you lie under the mosquito net in your charming palm thatched private rondavel. The sea is warm and safe and you can swim way out into the bay; it's swimmers...

We spent 5 nights here and it has been superb. Most of the time we have been the only guests, which has been fantastic for us, but a shame as a lot of people are missing out on a real gem. Jamal and his team made us feel very welcome. The room was spotless with a hot shower, huge comfy...
