My brother and I shared a beautiful room in Kate and Martin's home. The bathroom was lovely and extremely nice toiletries were provided. We were given bottled water and tea-making facilities and had a delicious, plentiful breakfast. Local restaurants were closed, so Kate suggested one a little further afield. As we were on foot, she gave us lifts both ways.... More

We (two couples) stayed at Les Cordelines at the start and end of our cycling trip around the region, and it is absolutely the friendliest place we have ever stayed. Kate and Martin were incredibly helpful and welcoming from assisting with information and maps to plan our cycling trips, to recommending and booking restaurants ( L’Anais in Ginestas is particularly... Nice, comfortable, clean accommodation about 500m from the canal. Bedrooms were large, bed was good, pleasant hosts, reasonable price, great breakfast! We also had a great meal at one of the 2 restaurants in the village recommended by the owners of Les Cordelines.

Kate and Martyn are excellent hosts. Upon arrival we received a warm welcome from them as well as their dog Barney and two cats. They provide everything and more from what we expected from a B and B. There are some good restaurants nearby which Kate and Martyn recommended. Les Cordelines is in an ideal location to explore the Canal... More

We have just returned from a second visit to Les Cordelines and have to say that it was just as good as before. Kate,Martyn and of course Barney gave us a lovely welcome. Very easy to walk to the Canal du Midi from their house and to the local restaurants, also well located for visiting various parts of the Languedoc.... More

Lovely home away from home, Kate and Martyn were so helpful and friendly. We emailed before the trip and they were happy to collect us from the local station. A very nice pool with a beautiful view and generous breakfast served on the terrace. There were also a great range of drinks and DVDs included for some relaxing down time.

Another last min chance booking led us to the beautiful village of Ventenac en Minervois situated on the Canal du Midi 20 mins drive from Nabonne and 30-40 mins from Carcassonne in a rural setting. The house itself is delightful as are the hosts and their lovely dog Barney. Unfortunately new house building around the property lets it's idyllic situation... More

If you are looking for a shabby place to stay run by grumpy people then keep looking; the entire property is immaculately clean and more friendly and accommodating people you will not meet than Kate & Martin. Every single detail has been thought of; from the crisp bed linen to the stocked up fridge in the guest room. I can... More

Fantastic hosts, location and accommodation. Nothing was too much trouble for Kate and Martyn who helped where needed and discrete enough to let you relax and take in the stunning scenario of the area and the village. Barney was well behaved and a calming presence around the place too! :-) Was really good to also be able to have the... More

Following the most disastrous outbound holiday journey I have undertaken, we arrived at Les Cordelines very late and somewhat disgruntled with our travels so far. We were met (following receipt of excellent directions from them prior to travel) by Kate and Martin whose welcome was so warm and friendly that the previous 16 hours of painstaking travel were washed away... Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Les Cordelines is a modern Bastide-style house on the edge of a pretty village on the Canal du Midi, so we are ideally located as a base for walking, cycling or touring holidays. We have four rooms for bed and breakfast, ensuring a warm and personal welcome. There is a large garden and a swimming pool. The nearest big town is Narbonne, the first city established in southern Gaul by the Romans. We are about 40 minutes from the sandy beaches of the Mediterranean, close to the Cathar towns of Minerve and Carcassonne, and around two hours from the Pyrennees. The closest airports are Béziers, Carcassonne and Perpignan; Montpellier, Nîmes, Toulouse and Girona are not far away either. ... more   less
