Myself and my husband wanted to renew our wedding vows so we booked a 'Lairds Blessing'. We arrived and checked in to the 'Murray Suite' which was absolutely stunning! Gorgeous bed, bath and views of the gardens. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We got ready in our room then sat and had a few drinks in the bar....

This castle/country manor has a lovely, authentic atmosphere. It was our first place to stay when we got to Scotland and was a perfect first experience. The staff were friendly and efficient and the décor of the hotel is perfect and the old castle is just what one would expect of a medieval castle. Our room was spacious, well-provisioned and...

Had 2 nights here recently. The drive is a long, beautiful road with farms either side- was a 10 min walk-then this wonderful castle is in front of you, in the middle of stunning grounds. Met by lively & polite staff in the most remarkable reception I've ever seen with flags, swords, paintings & armour. The room was stunning with...

Went on a Voucher which turned out to be a great deal since this is a very comfortable country house hotel. Great location and gardens, the hotel has a lot of charm and the Castle some great history. Dinner was good and excellent value. Room (Criffel suite) was excellent with outstanding views, bathroom a little small, but in an old...

First impression was fantastic, great building, with castle and grounds to die for. Our room was excellent with great views of the gardens, staff were very helpful and friendly. Our evening meal was mixed however, albeit our food was very tasty, I was surprised that my battered fish was plated as two small goujons, not what I expected. What let the...

Had a lovely over night here. Room was beautiful and immaculate, food was delicious and the staff were lovely! Would definitely go back! Only downfall was we should have received processcco and chocolates on arrival but when asked about this we were told we don't get them until after dinner......ended up taking them home as we didn't want to drink...

We stayed for two nights in a suite overlooking the immaculately kept gardens. The reception area is wonderful, adorned with suites of armour, swords and all sorts of ancient and interesting artefacts that take your breath away. The staff were all friendly efficient and courteous. Our room was spacious and decorated to the age and style of the building, a...

We spent two nights here on a Groupon voucher, which turned out to be very good value. Beautiful building and gardens. Bedroom had a four poster and the only draw back was the climb to the top floor. Hot water in the bathroom sink was very slow, but shower worked very well, extremely hot water. Dinner was good, not a...

We stumbled on this genuine 15th century Scottish castle while looking for some overnight accommodation. We drove past the sign and decided to give it a go. Lucky for us there was a room spare. This place has oodles of character and gorgeous rooms set amongst magnificent gardens. As expected this place is very popular for weddings. We dined by...

If your heart is set staying at a 15th century castle, then this is a good choice. Otherwise, skip it. The grounds are beautiful and set up for weddings. The rooms are terrible. First of all, the toilets barely flush. You have to pump the handle several minutes for it to work. Also, the room had no shower. It did...
