Dropped in with a friend for a pint and a pub lunch after a morning round of golf. The bar was quiet, but we received a warm welcome from the bar staff, and enjoyed a well kept pint of traditional ale. The lunch was unpretentious but all home cooked, and just what we wanted: cod and chips for me, steak...

A lovely local pub with good food. A good menu with ample choice to satisfy young and old! Friendly service and ample portions! An all round good place to eat with the family and not rushed in anyway.

Great menu, so much variety that it was really hard to choose! Service was a little slow considering the restaurant wasn't at all busy, but we all loved our meals, and weren't in a rush so it didn't really matter. The food is more upmarket than 'pub grub' - food was of good quality yet prices were very reasonable. Stopped...

My wife a had a lovely pulled pork burger served on a board, my little girl ate from the kids menu (cheese & tomato pizza with her...

A busy and popular pub, well kept real ale and helpful staff. Food is too pre prepared Brake Brothers / 3663 Food Service for my liking - and expensive for what it is. Needs a bit of imagination to make it into a good restaurant.

Thank you for your comments. I am pleased that you enjoyed the food and the service provided on the day. I am disappointed that you also did not enjoy your food to the same extent. 80% of our autumn menu is cooked fresh on-site. I would like to point out that the majority of our customers return because we offer...

We stayed here 2 nights before moving to be closer to our nephew's wedding venue. Our room was very comfortable. The stairs were a little problematic for me, but I just took it slowly. Also , the 500 year old floors are very uneven (surprise) so be careful walking the hallways.

The staff are really friendly and make you feel very welcome. The menu is good and there are always specials available. The food was cooked to perfection. The drinks choice is good with some really good real ales available. There are some rooms available so it's possible to stay and enjoy the area.
