This old coaching house is run by the community who rescued it from closure a few years ago. One of the reasons we chose it. The location and area are breathtakingly beautiful from man made old works to natural hills. Our twin room was large and the beds comfy. Shower room was great. Is so old, you're not going to get a 5 star pristine building and age shows in part. However it was more than adequate for sleep and clean too. The best feature of the hotel though is that guests can enjoy a few beers in the public bar chatting with the locals. We did. Also has live entertainment nights and a pool table. The chef was I'll and had to take a few days off which would be a problem normally as there's no other food outlets nearby. One of the volunteer staff took take away orders and collected them.for those who wanted to eat- great. A good place to stop.…
A true community venue with a good selection of beer and drinks, served by some very pleasant and friendly staff. Lots of Welsh speaking and Welsh songs create a brilliant atmosphere. The food is basic and served in a large dining room, which is clean and tidy. There is plenty of space to pick a quiet area to watch the village pass by. Well done to all of those volunteers 👌a great night was had.
What a great old-time, down home Welsh Pub! Clean rooms and creaky floors was wonderful to arrive and get out of the rainstorm which stopped us from hiking in the hills this time. Enjoyed the beer and bar food while chatting with the Locals. Great location for hikes and to the slate quarry tours and amazing Zip World State Caverns. Don’t expects anything modern here just history and slice of local Welsh life and you won’t be disappointed.
