Our room was at the rear of the hotel with shared terrace and no balcony BUT had a quirky private terrace with great views, sun-loungers etc up a metal staircase from the rear of the apartment. Also had convenient direct access to a peaceful back street, village shops and tavernas. Bit of a trek down through the hotel and associated...

Stayed two nights in this lovely resort. Just had a distant sea view as we were at the back of the complex (booked sea view). Nice room and balcony but overlooked by people on other balconies so not much privacy. Worst shower we had in Crete, wet floor every time. Hotel bar across the street very friendly and hotel has...

After a tiring walk along the E4 from Paleochora to Sougia we we delighted with our spacious room in this hotel. Very clean with a large comfortable bed. The room included a kitchenette and a small balcony which was very useful for making tea!

Just popped in for a drink after arriving in Sogia at noon. 2 beers and a white wine and soda were made all the better by the addition of a complimentary bar snack with a twist. Not the usual crisps or nuts, but whitebait marinated in olive olive oil with a few chunks of bread. At the bar I noteiced...

Didn't stay in this hotel but relaxed over long drawn out lunches for nine consecutive days! Dimitris is perfect host during midday hours, constantly refreshing glasses with ice cold water. Excellent choice of 60s and 70s music attract clientele of an age(!) but helps to create laid-back atmosphere. Unfortunately has to keep volume low to avoid clashes with neighbouring bars!...

We did not stay in the accomodation of Santa Irene, but would like to give our recommandation for the attached bar / restaurant, directly at the beach. We loved the excellent friendly service, nice cold beers after our walks and lovely food. Thank you!!

We stayed 2 nights here and found the hotel to be very nice and rooms clean. We had a second level room which had a small functional kitchen, nice size fridge, clean spacious bathroom , large bedroom and a nice balcony with a washing line to dry clothes. The room had air conditioning which worked well and had a large...

The location of this hotel is just fabulous. Sit at the front in the garden enjoying drinks and snacks or just while away the day and early evening. Staff are really helpful, polite and friendly and the food is good. Well worth a visit.

We stayed here two nights and found this hotel a very pleasant place. Family-run and very friendly. Clean, bright rooms right on the beach. Be sure to visit the cafe and bar for simple, but delicious, food and drinks. The hotel has chairs and umbrellas reserved for guests on the beach. There is a small charge. The pictures I found...

We stayed here in June 2003 during our first trip to Sougia, then again in 2004. Our room was clean, spacious and had a balcony overlooking the courtyard. We tended to spend all day at the beach, then all evening and night at the restaurant/bar/club, so had no requirement to attempt to cook food in the apartment. It is a...

“Room 25 was nice, up on 1st floor. As we extended our stay, we moved to room 14, which, as it was on the ground floor, felt a little less private as it was on the walkway to other apartments, though it was also more shaded and didn't have the sun beating directly down all day on the ceiling above, so it was slightly cooler.”
