We were wary because of the old Rough Guide write up, but really enjoyed our 2 day stay here. Rooms must have been modernised recently and the restaurant served good food for people on a walking holiday. Friendly staff and comfy rooms. Breakfast is the classic French baguette, croissant, butter and jam and presumably they have to oversee the self...

Arriving after a day hike on the Mare a Mare trail, you don't want to wait for your (reserved) room until the guy on the reception end his (long) private phone call. Food and room however where OK. The restaurant has a great view and the service in the restaurant and bar was good. Breakfast was very poor (the worst...

After a long day's walk in the mountains I was looking forward to staying in this hotel. Not a chance. It was completely full and very busy. The hotel operates a separate gite d'etape, which was also completely full. Thankfully, their campsite still had space, though even that was beginning to fill up. As Corsican campsites go, at least it...

WE stayed in a huge comfortable corner room with great views towards Paglia Orba. The management and staff were most friendly and allowed us to leave our excess luggage free of charge whilst we travelled for an overnight stay at Refuge de Manganau. The dining room was impressive with all round views of the surrounding hills and the food was...

We had great expectations heading here after 5 days on the GR20 sleeping in refuges. We could not wait to have a hot shower and sleep in a proper bed. The plus points: hot showers! Staff were extremely friendly, clean rooms, plentiful food in the restaurant in the evening - just what you need after a day's hiking. Downsides: the...

Ignore the snobbish comments in the Rough Guide. This is a well run hotel and restaurant that does its job well - and that job is to look after large numbers of tired and hungry walkers on the GR20 or Mare e Mare who stay a single night. The welcome is warm, friendly and efficient. The rooms are generously sized...

The bed's mattresses are so old, it's like you're sleeping in a bath: Totally not flat anymore, and hard. My back hurts like hell the morning after. Definitely not nice if you have a long day of hiking ahead... Don't sleep here!!

This is an old ski station. It has a comfortable gite with several dormitories as well as hotel accommodation. The restaurant was very good with a set menu and good service. Look out for the wild pigs outside!

This was the fourth night for us on our walking trip along the Northern half of the GR20 and having spent the previous night in a tent this felt like luxury! We enjoyed the best food on our walking trip at this hotel. And for those people walking you can pay on card here as most places on the GR20...

We stayed here for just one night in July, to break up a journey south and do a little hiking. We were not sure what to expect based on the reviews, but I can say this is a perfect hotel for hiking. The dinner is a set meal (without choice), but it comes quickly, and is comprised of extremely good,...
