There are some good reviews of this hotel but I would not trust them. The place is worn out. A start would be to remove all the wood chip wall paper and bring the hotel into the 2000's. The staff were friendly sorry but I won't be staying here again. I eat there for lunch and supper and the food...

Dear Sir Thank you for your review of our hotel, we value all the comments our guests have to make. However, I would like to take this opportunity to clarity a few points you make. As we’ve stated in our previous comments, we are well aware of the condition of the building and having only taking over in March 2012,...

We thought that Kingseat was properly in the back end of nowhere so our expectations of this hotel were not high. You wonder when you arrive whether you are going to be the only people in the place, I mean who stops in Kingseat? Well, even in early November there were 14 of us including our party of 6 lads...

I was in Scotland with the family for a couple of weeks at the end of August. We had to organise the trip in a hurry and hotels proved difficult. Premier Inn? If you have a teenager, forget it. They do not allow three adults in a room, even if one of them is your teenage son. Two rooms or...

We didn't stay at the hotel but had dinner. Which was absolutly delicious. The only let down was the speed of service. Especially witn a small child. Very slow. However this was not the fault of the waiting staff, with only one guy on bar and restaurant to begin with he was run off his feet. More staff did come...

Recently stayed here and I can honestly find nothing wrong with it. Rooms were clean and comfortable, food was excellent and the all the staff members were very friendly and cheery. Some parts of the decor need some freshing up, but I'm sure this will be tackled in due time. No complaints, will definitely return in the future.

This is the worst hotel I've encountered in 20 years and four continents. We arrived on a chilly February evening. The decor in the bedrooms was cheerful, well chosen, and in good condition. Breakfast next morning was perfectly OK and cheerfully served. That was the whole extent of the good news. The first room we were offered was freezing cold...

Thank you for your review for staying here at the Halfway House Hotel. We appreciate the views of our guests. However, you review is seven (7months) out of date. Since your visit, the hotel has changed ownership and service levels have changed. We appreciate the age of the hotel and we have implemented a redecoration and refurbishment programme. This programme...

A long weekend away with three mates was enjoyed after bidding and winning the tickets at a Meningitis Trust Charity ball for the BTCC. Halfway House is in an excellent location, well placed for a trip into the Highlands. On our arrival we were made very welcome. The rooms are great with all the facilities, spot on. Breakfast is everything...

We stayed here last year for a week while visiting the Festival and came back again this year. Sandra and David have now taken over and we were made welcome. Breakfasts are excellent, with lively conversation provided by Jessie, which stimulates a great communal feel. This is a very friendly place and we often had a late night chat when...
