A great family run place stuck in a complacent time warp of twenty years ago catering for a 99% French clientele that love it. Could be so much better with some investment in the basic infrastructure. Rooms need attention!plumbing ,leaky shower, electrics hair dyer not working and no hot water as solar heating not functioning properly Great location with beautifully maintained... More

The family owned business is well run. I would rate it mid range, they are very helpful and suggest tour operators that they have a relationship with. This can be good as they did say that some of the bigger operators may leave you waiting. It is clean and tidy, charming thatched bungalows. They were short on beach towels but... More

We stayed for a time at Hotel Hibiscus for our holiday in Moorea. We had an upstairs air conditioned room. It was quiet and very comfortable. Staff were friendly and most helpful. The grounds are well kept and spacious. The pool was always clean and well maintained. Snorkelling was amazing out front of the hotel and to the left with... More

We've had quite a few visits to Moorea over the years. Prior to our visit this year we stayed in 2012 at the InterContinental Moorea. Since then our kids have grown up so we need two rooms this time. We were delighted we stayed at Hibiscus. Our rooms had views of the water (Rms 12 and 13). Whilst they were... More

We really loved this hotel. It was everything we were looking for. Clean, really nice and extremely helpful (English speaking staff, and a great location. It was near many good restaurants and shopping. Unlike many beaches in French Polynesia, it actually had a beach with nice sand. We took a really nice walk to the right of the hotel. The snorkeling... We love this hotel. I was a little hesitant at first, being that there were not many current reviews, the old ones were good though. I am glad I went for it. We booked a premium beach bungalow. It has beautiful view of the lagoon, and it looks like it may have been renovated in the not so distant past.... More

Got here after crazy busy time in the US for a bit of R & R. Staff spoke English which saved me bumbling through in French. Room wasn't ready so went down to the beach for a wander. When we booked in we had been put in a block of air conditioned rooms, not a bungalow. Hadn't realized that need... More

We stopped here for lunch on the recommendation of Eva Perles. And a good choice it was. The dining area is open to catch the breeze and the setting is unpretentious. But this belies the quality of the food, the drinks and the service. The food is particularly notable for its quantity and tastiness. It was high summer when we... More

We did not stay at this hotel, but we ate at the restaurant. We had a great table (out on the open deck), with a tremendous view of the atoll. The owner was extremely nice, and the service was great. Earlier in the day, they had made arrangements for us to take a boat trip out to the "motu" (a... More

I'm writing this belatedly but am sure it's still the same as when I visited for a week in Jan 2015. The best part of this place is the birds - black or brown noddies (sea birds) roosting in the coconut and breadfruit trees on the property. Simply magical. Not sure the mostly French visitors truly appreciate these birds -... More
