We stayed in one of the apartments. Which overlooks a Cricket pitch.

The room was average, clean but a little basic but for the cost it was O K. The evening meal was good and the staff were very helpful and peasant. Breakfast was very good and served quickly. Overall I think this was for the cost...More
The hotel is well located and for the cost was OK. The room was clean if a little basic but the staff were pleasant and helpful. There is a pool available which us good and puts this hotel above average in facilities terms.
Good hotel with excellent accommodation in lovely setting. Staff and food great. Position is right for exploring Northumberland, countryside and coast. So much to see and do. Good golf course up the road.
An amazing hotel. The staff are great, welcoming, friendly and helpful. The food is lovely and the breakfast is excellent with the tastiest sausages I have ever tasted. Our room was in the garden rooms section. Tastefully decorated, clean, comfortable with king sized, comfortable and...More

In the immediate area, it's a short walk to the town centre by road or riverside walk, and there are three pubs. The Cheviot is a nice pub serving good food at reasonable prices. If you like 'ribs', they serve a FULL rack for about £12, I don't recommend having a starter beforehand. From the High St, there is a return walk that takes you through ancient woodland to an impressive waterfall, (under 3 miles return trip). Out and about, the Roman Wall and forts are easily accessed, and Kielder resevoir is a short drive away. There are a few 'English Heritage' type sites around also.(eg. Belsay Hall and Castle)

Hi, as you enter the Riverdale hotel, you walk into a covered lobby area, straight ahead is a set of doors, this leads to two ground floor rooms (we stayed in one of these with our dog ) the rooms are opposite the little fish pond which you can see as you walk in, but you turn left to go up the ramp and enter the main hotel through another door. When I inquired, I was told dogs are not allowed in the rooms of the main hotel. Dogs are also not allowed in the restaurant, but you can take dogs into the bar and eat in the bar with your dog. I must say the food at the Riverdale is excellent, they do great burgers and a fabulous Sunday lunch. Enjoy your stay, I'm sure you'll love it.
