Not sure if I love or hate the Riverdale Hall hotel, everything bad seems to have something good to match but if only the bad was fixed it would be fantastic. For example although I thought I was in room in the hotel I was shown to an outside apartment, not sure of the equivalent cost, some distance from the...

Stayed here on dinner bed breakfast rates. Location is lovely! Food and staff were fab! But sadly the hotel itself is very dated and could do with a revamp ( stuck in the 70s) the bedroom we stayed in had been modernised but still in need of a bit on maintenance eg wallpaper coming off wall due to condensation /damp

Once again thanks to all at the Riverdale it's warm it's friendly and the Restaurant has few rivals in the Tyne valley (it's what I judge the others against). It's not modern it's not corporate it's great that's why our party has returned for 14 years.

Here again on a 1 night stop over. It has its flaws and needs a makeover, but the room was very comfortable, warm (heating works well!) and overlooked the cricket pitch and river. The food was up to its usual high standard and the staff are always very attentive and friendly. Excellent value.

My wife and I booked a two night break with "Secret Escapes" for 18/19th October 2015. The following are my comments: * Friendly reception and help with luggage. Fresh milk for tea in room willingly supplied. * Old building with no lift and two flights of stairs * Room 1, advertised as a superior room, was spacious but looking its...

Very enjoyable stay. The room was clean and comfortable and had quite a decent size en-suite, with both a shower and bath. There was tea and coffee making facilities in room, and some nice little biscuits too. It was warm for most of the time, but when the heating was turned off there was a convector heater there to take...

Superiour room was really nice, spacious and clean overlooking the woodland and cricket pitch; lovely welcome too. However, the pool area is awful - grubby with a scum line and the sauna was useless!.

Just returned from a two night break here booked through secret escapes. We booked a superior room with one evening two course meal included. The food was amazing and so good we went in the following evening for three courses which I think was good value too. We had a lovley view from the balcony of our room and thoroughly...

Got a very good 2 night deal, however I think we got what we paid for, the room we received was very small and at the front, so no view, the bathroom would have been better if it had a walk in shower instead of a bath (not enough room). Also it was'nt the same standard as other rooms shown...
