Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Currently staying here with my family for a short break, house is a great size for us all, perfect location and lots of quaint shops close by including 2 local bigger supermarkets. Only thing I would say is house needs a fresh coat of paint and new kitchen basin as it looked like it was melted on one side, harbouring lots of bacteria. Would recommend tho to anyone looking to get away from the hub bub of life and enjoy the peace and quiet.

There were very few glasses. 5 wine glasses for 6 people and approximately 4 other glasses including one prosecco glass so no glasses for water. The dining plates were incomplete.
The lounge carpet was badly stained. The en suite shower did not drain properly. The WiFi did not work and 3 messages left on the contact mobile phone number went unanswered.
The grass outside the lodge was covered in cigarette ends.

All in all not what I would describe as luxury.

These are new build holiday villas and apartments in a development attached to a golf course. We had a 2 bed roomed villa for 3 days at the cost of £100 a day which was excellent value. Our villa was only a year old and in pristine condition. The 2 bedrooms have 2 single beds in each of them; one has en-suite and the other a dedicated shower room. All furnishings were as new and the linen, towels, etc were good quality. Kitchen/lounge/dining room is an excellent size with all facilities except a dishwasher (?) which I missed. That said it is really well laid out and a real home from home. The grounds are obviously newly planted but still attractive and next to woods. The attached golf course is in a spectacular location and very lovely. Restaurant for the facility is at the golf club and reasonably priced although we ate in our villa over the stay. Cleaners come in every day and tidy up/change towels. The site is only around half a mile from Banchory and an easy walk along an illuminated purpose built pathway. This is really a lovely place to stay for the price and I shall return as long as the standard remains this high.

This was such a great spot and potentially a perfect holiday home but sadly it did not feel very clean. The upstairs carpet was very badly stained as were the dining chairs. Tried to call a few times but no answer so gave up. The homes are not all the same and therefore this is not the case with all the properties. We had no 28 and were 4 people but it was impossible to find dishes for 4 without half being chipped. I had to go and buy two ovenproof dishes as nothing provided. The bathroom ceiling was peeling and we arrived to find rubbish , boxes and plastic baskets outside the front door. They were still there when we left.

Looked forward to a two night visit to Inchmarlo resort after reading the reviews, unfortunately what I found did not match my expectations. We stayed in villa 6 which was very basic, not 4 star standard, the resort is excellently situated but just needs some love and attention. Also several villas rented out to workmen, and although they did not cause any problems the sight of all their vans distracted from the holiday feel.

What has happened to this place . Went with friends to.play golf and stay the weekend . Reception very dirty not been hoovered in weeks .old woman ordering a young pregnant girl around . Very obnoxious she wasn't bothered there were people around . Went to get food. The service and food we got was fine . All served and cooked by the same lass that got shouted at . We then went over to our villa . The smell of urine was there to meet us at the door.the standard of Cleanliness was quite bad . Compared to last year when we stayed .pubic hair around toilet bowl . Water stains on the shower door . Kitchen oven and bin was dirty . The standards have well and truly slipped . Won't be back there in a hurry

We stayed here with the same group of friends two years ago. The villas where comfortable and stylish and so we decided to come back this year. Stayed in the same villa. It could really use a bit of attention, the paintwork is all very scuffed and tired looking, the bath panel was hanging open and the seal of the shower screen could use a good clean. The worst was yet to come! we got up in the morning to discover that there was no hot water. So that was six slightley smelly and very shivery people setting off on their homeward journey. Not the best of starts. We will definitely think again the next time we come to Banchory.

This was a great option for myself and disabled mother. Having read previous reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect. On arrival all seemed fabulous, and to a certain degree it was. Only once you start using things and seeing things more closely do you see the imperfections.
It is things that would not take long to sort ie, on our one night there we came across lots of walls that had been badly scuffed, very poor paintwork, a shower that you could only stand straight up in, too bad if you wanted to wash your tootsies, a shower shelf that should have been there but only had the holders sticking out, no shelf in bathroom to hold toilet bags, frames around all doors and windows that were in need of a good clean from insects, leaves etc. the hair drier was held together with loads of Sellotape and covered in fluff. I am glad there was only two of us in the villa (meant for 4) as we had to take turns in eating our cereal!! - there was only one spoon and one large serving spoon! The rest of the cutlery was all mismatched, the drawer also full of crumbs. No nice mugs but big "builders" mugs for your tea / coffee. The beds not very comfortable. And it was chilly despite the heating being on.
Well, as I say, it suited us for flexibility rather than a B&B, but it all looks very tired and uncared for despite it being in a lovely setting.

booked late to go to 20 inchmarlo and was not at all disappointed for the 2 nights we had arranged for the September weekend
Very clean and well presented and ideal for the four of us as a family. Great get away and the flat was very quiet even although the other apartments were occupied above.
Julie was very very helpful and kind which really makes a difference when you are going to a new place.
Owners recommended Tor na coille for food and this was another winner

Well done inchmarlo

My family and I have stayed at inch marls 5 times in the last 4-5 years.
On every visit we have thoroughly enjoyed it and had no complaints.
This time however aim sad to say was different! Villa was not cleaned to usual standard and there were a few faults with villa! Freezer door broken and kept falling of, shower screen in ensuite faulty and of runner, dirty towels, blood on toilet door, ensuite door wouldnt close as needed planed on top of door and plates and bowls a mix match, also we had to buy a large frying pan to cook steak in for four people as 1 in kitchen would barely fit an egg! Just feel standards are slipping and hardly 4star as billed!! Shame!!!
