We arrived late Friday night in the fog and left a week later in the rain........but in between, we were blessed with fantastic Scottish sunshine from dawn to dusk, albeit with the occasional shower. No chance to use the wood burning stove, but could imagine the warmth it must radiate. Beautifully appointed cottage (we stayed in King Duncans), sleeps six...

We are familiar with the area having lived near here a few years ago and have returned on holiday a number of times as Aberdeenshire is always a favourite. I can remember passing the cottage that became Macbeths Retreat on many car runs so I was looking forwards to our holiday. The pictures of the cottage on the website dont...

A very cosy and homely cottage with all you need for a home from home stay away. Wifi in such a rural location is a boon - thank you - and we loved the views from Lady Macbeth's Rest - simply stunning sunsets. Our daughter loved being able to meet the dogs - she misses them! We've recommended to friends...

Just returned from 3 week driving tour of Northern Scotland. Spent a great week at Perkhill Cottages staying in Macbeths Retreat. Beautiful cottage with attention to detail. Greeted by Pipa with explanation of cottage and the area. Thanks for the treats and beer. Also had tour with Alex showing us his cattle and farming operation. We highly recommend this cottage...

Just home from yet another fantastic week away. This is now our 3rd stay with Perkhill (and our second at King Duncan View), yet again it was perfect. The weather was so good to us with sun nearly every day. All the premises at Perkhill have everything you need, clean and so peaceful. I say this on every visit, but...

We are just back home after a 3 night stay in Lady Macbeth's Retreat, and are already wishing we were still there! Perfect for a family getaway and get together, the accommodation is spacious and immaculately kept, with everything you could need on hand. Pippa helpfully provided a travel cot and high chair for our baby, who loved the dogs!...

I stayed here with my kids and family and it was a perfect bolthole; set on a working farm. Pippa (owner) was a great host and her husband showed me and the kids around the farm and into the cow sheds where he told us all about the cows/bulls and introduced us to a 4day old calf which my kids...

I've just read the other reviews and now stuck for what to write as they've all pinched "my" accolades. We stayed at King Duncan's retreat over the bank holiday weekend to attend the Lonach Highland Gathering. The house is traditional granite outside but modern and fully (yes, fully) equipped inside in a thoughtful and romantic manner - albeit we had...

I hope you have recovered from your long day marching as a Lonarch Highlander! The Lonarch Games is a fantastic day out - especially when the sun shines! It was lovely to meet you all and hope we will see again next year. Thank you very much for the review. Pippa.

Stayed for a week at King Duncan's View and was really impressed with everything about the place. It is immaculately clean and the kitchen appliances work exceptionally well.
