Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

In beautiful rooms and a quiet, restful area we spent a nice time. At Don & Michele you feel like a family member, you are cared for and hosted, no hotel in the world can do better. We will definitely come back and look forward to another stay. We felt very much and miss the great breakfast, the afternoon tea and the beautiful evenings very much.

I recently stayed at this B&B due to work reasons. I stayed for 5 nights and I was over the moon with the service I got and my stay. Don and Michelle were very welcoming and looked after my every need. The room was very nice with a comfy bed. The view of the countryside is great to. The B&B has a very home feeling. Breakfast each morning was very nice to. Thanks for a rest stay

Don and Michele were fantastic hosts! The rooms were well kept and the bathroom spotless. The shower was great and bath facilities were available. The breakfast was wonderful and could be changed every evening to whatever we chose. Very peaceful property. The hosts sent me back numerous emails in response to my questions and even sent me info on local fishing. They were engaging and fun to be around. Located very close to Banchory and the Crathes Castle. They gave us great info on local restaurants to try. Internet was very fast, much appreciated. We were offered tea and biscuits/desserts often while there and even a glass of wine one evening. Very special and caring people. Would stay there again and again!

This is not the review I had planned to write, because Don and Michele are lovely, and so is their home B&B. At the time we booked, their website stated that two bedrooms had "exclusive" use of the hall bathroom. We--two couples in the same family--prefer en suite accommodations, but agreed to put up with this inconvenience. Then our lovely hosts rented out a third, previously unmentioned, guest room, and a stranger walked in on me as I was washing up. Most baffling of all, when I wrote to Don about how unhappy we were about this, he did not seem to understand, saying only he was sorry I was disappointed, that they never intended to deceive, and his big takeaway from the incident was that he needed to update his website! Other hosts have always, always, always been at pains to assure us that a hall bathroom would be for our private use. Do not book here if you do not want to share a bathroom with a stranger.

Stayed in this lovely B&B for just the one night, but shall definately return.
Had a delightful twin bedded room all to myself. Lovely comfy bed. Woke to the sound of cows lowing insistantly, but this just added to the charm of this out of the way and peacefull dwelling.
Breakfast all alone, but mine host was attentive and nothing was too much trouble.
I was so taken with the place that I asked permission to take photos of the beautiful rooms.
There were pretty pieces of antique furniture and curios everywhere and sunlight streamed ike a blessing into the porch after breakfast.
There was even a spacious and welcoming bathroom which, although shared was - like the rest of the house - spotless and cosy. What more could a weary traveller desire?
Oh, and best of all; it was very inexpensive.
Took a bit of finding. The signpost at the entrance is not too easy to read.

we stopped here for 3 nights as we were working in the area, there are 2 rooms available as the couple who ran it wanted to keep it small and personal, they were wonderful hosts making us pots of tea quite late at night as we were working long days, the house was lovely as were the rooms, it was set in a beautifully quiet spot some way from the main road, banchory the local town was quite busy with enough eateries and pubs to suffice, we ate in "memory of china" which was excellent (why are the good restaurants always hundreds of miles from home. any way if you are in or around Aberdeenshire i would highly recommend the B&B as a base to explore from, wonderful!!!

In the middle of nowhere, but definitely a great place: a comfortable house full of interesting antiques, clean and cozy rooms (shared bathroom, though). Wonderfully hospitable and kind hosts like Don and Michelle are not easy to come by, they will really go out of their way to make you feel pampered, including by making you the best brakfast. A must.
