Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I stayed 3 nights here exploring Royal Deeside. Anne and Alan were very friendly and welcoming, and the fridge in the hall (with fresh milk) was useful for my diabetic stuff. The room was comfortable and there is a large guests lounge. Good breakfasts. There isn't anything at Lochton so you have to go into Banchory to get anything to eat. Very quiet at night if you value a good night's sleep, like me.

I have just spent a week working in the Banchory area and stayed at Lochton house.
Anne and Alan went to so much effort to make our stay pleasant i was amazed, There seems to be no end to the trouble they would go to including drying soaking wet clothes or taxi, ing us about . A good solid breakfast started every day and a warm and inviting lounge finished the day.
I have no problem recomending Lochton House to anyone.

We stayed here one night. The hosts were extremely friendly, the B&B was situated in a pleasant, rural area not far from town. Breakfast was good, and the accomodation was quiet, and nice & clean etc. Only gripe - the beds weren't the most comfy in the world.

Great value and where friendliness is number one.

I booked Lochton House for two friends attending a wedding. They gushed about the quality of the rooms, the wonderful welcome and wonderful food. All at a great price. The way B&Bs should be.

Anne was very helpful in providing the rooms I required with en-suites. She was also very flexible as I changed plans several times.

Highly recommended.

Dear William Thank you so much for your kind words. It was a pleasure to help you arrange the accommodation to suit your two friends. We enjoyed hearing about how much they had enjoyed the wedding and reception after breakfast the following morning. Anne

Excellent B & B. One of the best we know. We like staying here. It's simply beautiful. Fantastic service and incredible friendly people.
Lochton House is a good location for tours to Castle Trail, Whisky Trail, the Cairngorms and the coast. The perfect place to stay. We are coming back again. For sure. A house to feel comfortable. Many thanks again. Michael & Norina.

Anne is am amazing host. Breakfast was good. We stayed one night in a twin room. Although the room was clean the only negative was that the sliding bathroom door didn't close all the way. Our room faced the main road but you would never know as it was extremely quiet. I could not hear the lorries drive by. There is a car park just opposite.

Hi there! Many thanks for your positive comments. I am sorry to read that you were not happy with the sliding bathroom door. It has not been a problem in the past, but I shall try to rectify the 0.5cm gap. Two of the main bedrooms face the main road, but the road is some distance from the house ( the width of a large field ) and I would not expect the noise of the traffic to be heard. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your touring holiday and maybe one day you might return to Scotland. Haste ye back! Kind regards Anne

Really perfect a b&b you will find. Anne was the perfect host, making me feel so welcome on arrival. Bedroom was a good size and perfectly clean as was the bathroom. After a most comfortable nights sleep a perfect breakfast and morning chat with both Anne and the other guests the day was well set up. Loved it. Will certainly be back when in the area.
Oh....did I mention the word perfect??
Thank you Anne.

Hi Rob Thank you so much for your kind words. I enjoyed chatting to you about Logeriat and Rannoch and I am pleased that you enjoyed your chat with the other guests....well Andrew will now be enjoying the Dancing Summer School in St Andrews, Max has gone off to fish the Spey for two weeks and June will be back in Teeside with her memories of Deeside. Hope to see you again when you need accommodation in the area. Anne :-)

fantastice hospitality, Anne and Alan couldn't do enough to make sure we had everything we needed. We had 3 nights there while fishing locally. There is a lovely large lounge with a bright and spacious dining area at the other end. Free wifi was a great benefit to check the river levels!! and hot chocolate before bedtime was above and beyond. Loved every minute of it.
The rooms were a good size, clean, comfy and had everything you needed.
