I decided to try the Salty Dog on Saturday after an afternoon walk. I was really hungry by the time I got to the Salty Dog and ordered lunch. My main course arrived quickly and tasted amazing. The portion size was huge, it tasted excellent and was very well presented. My Fiancee is vegetarian and really enjoyed the haloumi burger...

Visited here Sun 5th March with family. Ordered roast for myself and mum and my daughter had the kids chicken breast. We have had Sunday lunch here before and we're happy with it the last time. This time it took a long time to arrive, the beef roast was mostly fat and not presented well. The bed of mashed Potatoes...

I am really sorry to hear about this. As you know from your previous experiences this is not our normal standard. It would be great if you could drop me a line at ken@saltydogbangor.com so we can address the issues directly with you.

Went for lunch with my family and I left with a bad taste in my mouth in more than one way! Before I go on I'd like to say that the service from our waitress was fine and we have no issues with that. My wife got the goats cheese starter which was described as a fritter with rocket salad....

I am very sorry to hear your comments. They are obviously far below our normal standards. Could you please let me know when you were in so we can investigate. I would also like to check your bill because that is not the price we should be charging for apple juice. ken@saltydogbangor.com

We have had mixed experiences in the Salty Dog in the past – not with the quality of the food, but with the quantity (for the prices charged) and with the service. However our last experience was very good. As usual for a Friday night the restaurant was quite busy, but even so the service was efficient and friendly. Our...

We a=stayed here a few years ago ( read review ) and glad to say we returned to find a very much more happy and warm place to stay. The room was immaculate, overlooking the sea, the bar busy the staff happy. We had a decent meal and a bottle of wine. Breakfast was quick and perfectly cooked although not...

Such a disappointment! The view is amazing, the interior lovely, huge amount of staff but such a let down with the food for afternoon tea! We had booked well in advance so it was not as if it was a surprise to the chef! Sandwiches were amazing-fresh and delicious! The scones were massive and warm on arrival but very heavy...

Went with work friends for afternoon tea. The sandwiches were fabulous but the rest not!! Scones ok but the so called buns etc absolutely rubbish! Consisted of squares of cake and what the staff called quenelles of ?? Caramel flavoured mush and also fudge!! The array of sweet buns that are available these days are many and varied but I...

Dined here for lunch recently with my accountant; not for the first time I have to say so that must mean we liked it the last time ; ) Great location overlooking the harbour in Bangor. Easy access and parking and plenty of space inside. We both had the fish and chips which were pretty good. I wouldn't say exceptional...
