I can highly recomend a stay at the Aikenshill. The rooms are lovely, bed is really good, everything is clean and the interior in the whole house is in a very good taste. Wonderful view of the Ocean from our room. The owners really do everything to make it a wonderful experience to stay there. We arrived late, but still...

I have never been moved to write a review of a hotel or B&B before. But Aikenshill deserves a mention because it was quite the loveliest B&B I have ever stayed in. We received a warm welcome and outstanding service which went way beyond what was expected. Including being driven to our dinner destination to avoid a getting a cab,...

Do not even look or consider elsewhere if staying in this region as you will not better Aikenshill. Simply outstanding and world class place to stay. I travel all over the world on a regular basis and this place tops them all. Just go to meet Eric the Highland bull and his girls.....wonderful entrance to Scotland's best home from home.

We ended up at Aikenshill House when the hotel we originally had booked had overbooked. They put us in Aikenshill House and that was the best thing that could have happened. Spacious, modern, clean en-suite bedrooms and a lovely breakfast. But the highlight is the family itself. James, Shona and daughters Jessica and Sarah are a delight to be with,...

I usually stay in hotels (safe option) but my client recommended Aikenshill so I thought I would give it a go. When I next come to Aberdeen, forget hotels! Aikenshill provide the best service, best food, best rooms and all with an exceptionally friendly service. I would not hesitate a second to recommend this 5 star B&B.

Working in Aberdeen, no more over-priced, poor hotels since I discovered this gem of a place. 2 minutes from beach, 30 mins from Aberdeen centre. Interiors just beautiful. For dinner this evening - Locally smoked hake risotto followed by Greek yogurt with dried fruit in clove/cinnamon/star-anise syrup - divine! All lovingly made by the owner. He even printed me a...

From the first look through the window as we drove up, we knew we had made the right decision. The warm fire in the guest lounge was inviting and the entire house welcomed us, as did James and "Betty's Shona". Warm tea helped us acclimate to the deliciously decorated home they share with their guests. A wee dram of the...

Great place, great host. I git a very warm welcome on arrival to the house coupled with a personal lift to the local watering hole where the food is devine. My room was immaculate and the whole place is a home away from home, what more could you ask for? Thanks alot and i will be staying again soon!

The five stars awarded by the AA for a bed & breakfast is well earned. Convenient for Aberdeen but in a quiet location. Reasonably priced compared to accommodation in the city. Very well appointed rooms and bathroom. James Duthie, a most excellent host who was happy to offer a personalised service. No kettle in the rooms....but a tray with cafetiere...
