We visited The Midland for a friend's afternoon tea party birthday celebrations. I've lived in Morecambe a number of years and I've never been inside. The view from the outside is shocking and is in desperate need of a clean and a paint. Onto the food. The afternoon tea which my partner was served was basic sandwiches on store bought...

I love to travel and do so as often as possible. I'm also fussy about where I stay and seek out clean and beautiful hotels. I have frequented The Midland at least twice a year for the last four years and it has to be my favourite hotel worldwide for a break away from the hustle and bustle of life....

This is a wonderfully renovated hotel, restored to its 1930's Art Deco glory with Eric Gill interior deco as well as a reworked Ravillious mural. Our room (207) was similarly great in its design features- quirky and interesting as well as extremely spacious and with the most fantastic balcony and sea view. We had two quiet and really comfortable nights...

Stayed for a couple of nights in this fabulous hotel, the staff couldn't do enough for us. The room was excellent as was the food. Happily surprised how dog friendly the hotel was and even set us a table in the Rotunda Bar for the evening and breakfast.

Sunday lunch at the Midland was a real treat - rare roast beef, perfectly cooked vegetable, an eclectic range of starters. Seated in the covered sun terrace overlooking the sea with the sun pouring through the windows was a rare winter treat. Staff couldn't have been friendlier and more helpful. But the best thing of all? This place is a...

As art deco fans we have long wanted to stay at the Midland, and we were not disappointed. The building is iconic - we spent a good half hour standing in the lobby just looking up at the amazing staircase and ceiling art. The renovations have bene done very sympathetically. Our room was stylish with a wonderful view over the...

We were recommended by a local person to have lunch here. What a beautiful and well cared for hotel,we are very drawn to the style of the 30s,so it was so lovely to see this grand building at the end of the promenade, and the interior even more pleasing, what an absolute gem and with northern friendliness too! We enjoyed a very...

We stayed a couple of nights in November & this really is fabulous building. The food is also excellent. Breakfast is a combination of a buffet (including fabulously creamy porridge) & cooked to order with offerings such as a full English, kippers & eggs benedict. Served in the sun terrace restaurant, even if the weather's not great you get a...

Went here for afternoon tea as it was my birthday treat. It was delicious and everything of the highest quality. We sat in the sunny window overlooking Morcambe bay and could see the snow covered fells of the Lake District in the distance. We had the gin cocktail too. Everything was beautifully served and although expensive was well worth the...

I love the Midland - the art deco ambience is perfectly maintained. The service is personal and excellent, and the rooms spacious and well laid out. Beautiful views both seawards and inland. My wife requires disabled access, and the room was on of the best she has encountered.
