Arriving on a cold and snowy day we couldn't have received a warmer welcome. The sauna was awaiting us, then dinner with a group of strangers. The delicious food and friendly introduction from Edward facilitated easy bonding of these 10 strangers. I came with a friend but I could just as easily been there alone. I felt safe and in...

I think the fact that we have been coming here every January for the last 8 years tells you everything you need to know! We visit every year as a group of 14 ladies (sometimes 16 of us) late January for the relaxation weekend and the countdown to arrival starts just after christmas.... Edward and Claire are just fantastic, so...

Returned here after a 20 year break and although there have been some changes, including ownership, the relaxing and relaxed ethos of the house remains. The current owner who also runs the workshops on relaxation and mindfulness, with a bit if yoga thrown in, is very approachable and is present at mealtimes to chat and serve. Supported by a fabulous...

A great weekend at the Orange Tree. Wonderful food, treatments and guided meditation and relaxation techniques. Love the variety of different people who come along to the weekends - such varied and interesting company. Thank you Edward and Claire for creating such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Looking forward to seeing the changes at The Old Chapel next time.

Just been for my third 'relaxation weekend' at The Orange Tree and it didn't disappoint. Would thoroughly recommend it, you leave feeling relaxed (of course!) but re-engised and re-focused as well. Fabulous food, great company and a wonderful atmosphere.

This was my first visit and it won't be the last. The weekend was run by Elizabeth of lemon tree yoga who was calm and very knowledgable as a teacher. The food is veggie and just wonderful and plentiful. The chapel when it's finished will be a great yoga studio. The only reason this is not 5 stars for me...

Thank you for your review and pleased that you had an enjoyable stay with us. We are looking forward to having the new Chapel Studio ready next year ( early in Spring , all being well) which will provide a beautiful and much bigger space for yoga .

I've had the most amazing weekend which was so relaxing, the location and venue were perfect and I loved everything about The Orange Tree. Edward was waiting at the door to greet us as we arrived in the car park and carried our bags to our 1st floor room which was warm, clean & comfortable. We were made to feel...

This is a small place the owner was not around for most of the time. There are lots of staff around to help and take care of the guests. The service and breakfast was of a good quality. I did find the bed uncomfortable. The best thing any accommodation can do is provide good, quality beds. I am well travelled...

Thank you for your review and really pleased that you had a peaceful time. We were sorry to hear that you found the beds uncomfortable and if we had realised we would have happily moved you to a different room . We have gradually been up grading our mattresses and you will be pleased to hear that we have now...

I didn't know too much what to expect as I went with my mum on her 5* recommendation. It was lovely. There was a fantastic atmosphere cultivated by Edward and team. The location is stunning in the North York Moors. So much food! And it was absolutely delicious. All veggie, all cooked from scratch and full of flavour. I am...

I have just returned from a 5-day silent retreat at the Orange Tree. This twice-yearly event was my first ever experience of such a retreat and it was beyond all my expectations. The basic rule was no speaking, reading, using any technology such as IPads or mobiles and no bringing in any of our own foods. When the gong sounded...
