Live local and want it to be good but just not great . The menu is very limited and the only special was Curry. Food looked nice but was cold and not value for money. Coffee tasted stewed would have had a dessert but again a terrible choice available.

What can you say. A great light and airy room (1). Battered haddock and home made hand cut chips mushy peas and tartare sauce. All washed down with real ale from Helmsley and a goodly dollop of friendliness and atmosphere. Great. Also with leaving early I was given a bacon sandwich in foil and a bottle of spring water. It...

We recently stayed for a night at The Back Swan as a break from the usual routine. Upon arrival we were greeted and shown to our room before heading back down to the bar for a drink and a relax. Our room was clean with a good size bathroom and tea and coffee making facilities - everything you need for...

Always call at the Black Swan whenever we visit Pickering. The Choice of Ales is outstanding, the food gorgeous. The lunch time steak sandwich is to die for, absolutely yummy. We have eaten there in the evening and I had the chicken breast off the special board and I didn't regret it . It was tasty and moist. We can't...

Popped in yesterday with the intention of staying for food. Having walked in through the main doors we stopped and waited for sometime before the very unhappy front of house seated us. We said we would like to eat and she gave us menus. We haven't been here before and could see there were a few other diners. It appeared...

Stayed here last week for two nights. It was a refreshing change to have such good service and to feel that nothing was too much trouble, better than many so called Four Star hotels!!. Our room had been newly refurbished to a very high standard - was very clean light and airy with everything we needed for a comfortable stay....
