We stayed for one night only for half the price of the cheapest Gatwick hotel. The room was compact but very clean and modern and the en suite likewise. The bed was also very comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep before an early flight. It is a 3 minute train ride from Gatwick and a 10 minute walk from Horley...

Six of us stayed here prior to a flight from Gatwick the next day. The 3 rooms were basic but clean and comfortable and for 1 night it was fine. The transfer to the airport took 5 minutes and was perfect - pick up on return was just as good The staff were helpful and we had dinner in a...

I stayed here for 1 night, as i was leaving from gatwick the next morning, the airport transfer was to be free between 09:00 - 23:00. I arrived at 18:30 and left the next morning at 09:20 and yet was charged £5. so much for the free transfer. next I checked into my room, shock, horror, firstly the damp musty...

Arrived at accommodation with a few heavy bags. Guy behind the counter did not offer to help carry the bags up. The guy took me to the room and noted the bed hadn't been made properly yet. I asked if they were fresh sheets. He said yes. Unfortunately, come time for bed, the sheets were very damp! Bed went down...

Stayed here for the night before flying from Gatwick - cheap, clean, very basic and smelt a bit musty. You get what you pay for and as it was only for one night it wasn't a problem but I wouldn't want to stay any longer than that.

Whoever cleans the Gainsborough Lodge deserves a bonus - it was exceptionally clean. The room was much as you would expect from a guest house of this type - we certainly weren't disappointed. The receptionist was unfriendly. The breakfast was not great and the prunes and grapefruit segments were, on our second morning, untouched and in the same bowl from...

We stayed here for one night before flying from Gatwick, on a deal that included 12 days parking and free transfers to and from the airport. The hotel looks a little tired from the outside, but there was refurbishment work going on and we were given one of the newly refurbished rooms, which proved to be just fine for our...

If you are looking for an inexpensive clean overnight stay I recommend he Gainesborough Lodge. I have stayed there for years and it is now being renovated. Breakfast is nice and it's conveniently located to Gatwick airport. The shuttle runs on the half hour.

Chosen for proximity to airport and thed relatively inexpensive parking. Unfortunately there was some building work going on so noise in the afternoon was a pain. Having said that it does need some modernisation so maybe now something is being done. The room was basic, towels threadbare and bed OK for 1 night. Breakfast was nothing to write home about...

I choose it for the location- almosst next to Gatwick airport. Room very basic- but I was not looking for luxury. Shower was strange and not very effective which is one big con in my opinion. All in all- worth their 34 GBP which I paid for the room.

Thank Celiniece
