This is second time we have stayed at the Gainsborough Lodge and if you want something that is close to airport for 1 night with parking it is great value Rooms are small but clean and comfortable (best rooms are away from front of hotel above lobby) Staff friendly and helpful. For the reviewers that indicate "do not stay" I...

Gainsborough Lodge was absolutely perfect for a one-night stopover prior to an early morning flight from Gatwick. Check-in was prompt and efficient. Our room and bathroom were clean, the bed was comfortable, the shower was warm. Good TV and wifi and a 5 minute walk to value pubs for an evening meal in Horley. Gainsborough Lodge is a 2 minute...

We booked for 1 night and didn't even stay the night, it's run down, no one was on site when we arrived you have to call and wait for some one to come from another hotel, front door always unlocked and I did not like the fact that anyone could just waltz in and no one was around to stop...

Stayed at the Gainsborough Lodge in readiness for an early Gatwick flight. Rooms are small and basic but clean and certainly good value for the price. Parking is available within the hotel. It's a 5-10 minute walk at most into Horley which is a pretty little town. We found a great pub with a two meals for £8 menu and...

We arrived at the hotel late with no space to park at all. When we got there there was no one to check us in so we had to wait twenty minutes after a long journey to the hotel to find out the guy who was checking us in was just sat at the bar instead. Rooms are noisy and...

I arrived kowing or at least thinking my cardhad already been charged fir the trip. Turns out it had not. Yet I had received information that it was charged. I will have to check my statement when I get home. Anyway I arrived way too early and had to wait for the first available room. I was happy they gave...

The room was small, but comfortable. It was advertised that we'd have a bath, we had a shower. There only included a small towel, so it was hard to dry your self.. the shower was quite dirty. The only thing I can really say is it done the job, we slept for a few hours before catching a flight. They...

PROs + close to Gatwick Airport (within walking distance) + comfortable but slightly small beds CONs - £40 per night is very expensive for such a low quality old house that has been re-purposed into a hotel - rude and unprofessional Eastern European staff - staff smokes like a chimney and gives out the constant scent of cancer - room...
