Ancient inn with lots of plus points - very comfortable four poster bed, cosy bar with all the papers to read, friendly staff and owners, overlooking a church with bells on sunday morning and in a town with lots of small independent shops to visit. Ideal for a weekend away. Highly recommended.

We stayed here for a night whilst visiting family and it proved to be a lovely place to stay. We were in the room which faces the church (lovely Sunday Church bell wakeup call!) and it was really nicely appointed and comfortable. The owners were also really welcoming and friendly. The bar was also well-stocked with a good selection of...

Wonderful words, thank you! I salute your colourful metaphore, skillfully circumventing the censorship algorithms used to police these reviews! And, you'll pleased to hear that we've not received any complaints about sword play from the parishioners, although a short sword, dagger or bodkin would not have been easily spied, so perhaps it was exaggerated wishful thinking? Nevertheless, I've decided to...

Staff are very friendly and it's a quaint old pub, B&B in a lovely village. Great location. It is clean, but the walls are basically made of paper, acoustic rating of nothing. The shower is very small, electric and went from stone cold to hotter than the sun every 20 seconds which was frustrating. Room 1 has no wifi! Buuut...

Thank you for taking the time to review us and for your encouraging words. Naturally, I'm compelled to make a response regarding your less favourable comments and disappointing average score, however. No, the walls are not made of paper! And they do offer a degree of noise insulation, but perhaps less than what one might expect of a modern building....

With several flat screen TV’s, there is always one devoted to rugby. Recently installed the screen – for Sky and BT - now has a growing fan base with enthusiasts coming from all parts of West Sussex, Hampshire and Surrey. The fast A272 east-west road and the A 286 north-south road intersect in Midhurst making it a 20-30 min journey...

I booked two consecutive nights being Christmas Day and Boxing Day, not the easiest request to accommodate. My initial contact over the phone seemed almost too easy, I wasn't even asked for a deposit. This made me concerned that on arrival after a long drive from Devon, we might find 'no room at the inn' . I followed up with...

We were visiting Midhurst with our walking group for a traditional Christmas walk through the surrounding countryside. We chose to stay in the Swan as we had enjoyed a lunchtime drink on many visits in the past. It is a beautiful traditional building, right in the centre of town, serving our favourite Harvey's Beer. We were shown a choice of...

My friends and I visited for a few drinks as we were passing through Midhurst. From the outside, the pub is situated in a picturesque setting, surprisingly, we didn't have trouble finding a parking space. The atmosphere in this pub is lovely, everyone is so friendly and the drinks are reasonably priced. The facilities are outstanding, and everything is very...

Booked The Swan Inn to attend my nephews wedding. 2 rooms booked, were able to check in early after travelling from South Wales and greeted with a much welcome cup of tea. On booking I was given information on a local taxi firm so made a booking in advance to take us to the wedding and pick us up. The...

Lovely blend of all the modern comfort and facilities you could want, in a tastefully-decorated room, in a really historic building. Friendly, helpful owners and staff. Good breakfasts. Excellent value in an otherwise expensive area. Lovely historic town with several places to eat. What's not to like? Was in the area for a family-history-related holiday. Bus links that I needed...

Set right in the heart of the old town of Midhurst, this 15th century inn is full of character with clean, comfortable rooms. Breakfast was good, setting us up for a day's sightseeing. The welcome was warm and we were able to return to a well-kept pint of real ale in the evening!
