On entering the hotel it looked quite nice, clean and welcoming with friendly staff. Was given our key and directions to our room so off we went upto floor 3 left out out of the lift down a flight of stairs left at the bottom then up another flight of stairs bit all over the place and a little bit dated with a musky smell in the air but when we got to our room i was pleasantly surprised, the room was very clean and tidy the shower room was very well presented and very clean the bed was soft BUT very comfortable so in all i very much enjoyed the stay there and so did the missus.

The hotel needs to be refurbished. We paid extra for a sea view room because they didn't have a walk in shower otherwise. The room was small, two of you couldn't pass each other at the bottom of the beds; the view was lovely; the walk in shower was a small square box, anyone claustrophobic could not have used it. The ceiling was marked with water stains from a leak from the room above. This seemed to regularly happen.
You had 9 steep stairs to the dining room-disgusting for all the older people staying. The cereals for breakfast were laid in a dingy room before you entered the dining room, in the centre of the table were dusty artificial flowers. Evening meals, I wonder if the chef had walked out? Chicken breasts were so hard you couldn't eat them, as were the pork steaks another night, a third dinner the fish went back, it wasn't cooked. There were no toilets on the ground floor. from the lounge area the ladies had to go up the stairs towards the dining room, the gents had to go up another flight of stairs or use the small lift to their bedrooms. The lift held 4 but you had to be good friends!! This was the only lift for three floors! This hotel needs The Hotel Inspector!

We arrived at the Cliff-Norton on the 26th Sept for a 5 day break with alfa. The hotel is overlooking tenby harbour with excellent views and in a good location for the town. On arrival we had a welcome greeting by the manager, our room was nice and clean just big enough for us. Food was good quality came to us nice and hot, the service by the waiter (Bobby) was very good. The bar manager is Angel and was very good with not much waiting time ,the prices are reasonable. It is a well run hotel all of the employees work very hard in all the departments of the hotel.

Pre-booked breakfast, if you eventually get a table, is terrible and does not deserve the low food rating offered, it should not have a rating at all. The management are surly and unhelpful. The entire hotel needs refurbishment. This hotel's rooms are overpriced and of a low standard. Coach parties are catered for more than couples or singles and the menu choice is based on Fawlty Towers which this hotel makes look 5*. Avoid it at all costs!

Well what can I say. Booked this hotel on Booking.com for one night at the cost of £112 a night for a sea view room. When we arrived we were worried about the outside of the property let alone the inside. The property looks very run down, the windows are filthy and look like they haven't been cleaned for years. On the window it states they have a 2* food hygiene rating and I would never have booked knowing this. I didn't expect a 2*food hygiene hotel at £112 a night.

We entered the hotel where you walk straight into the bar/reception area and this is so dark and drab (dark browns) and it has a depressing feeling. We went to our room which was sea view. The room itself was a very good size with a walk in wardrobe although the walk in wardrobe contained a big brown shiny old fashioned dressing table and there was not enough room for this ugly dresser. The rest of the bedroom furniture was also very old fashioned. The floor in the bedroom seemed slanted and at first we thought we were imagining it but no we were correct. The bathroom was clean as were the towels. The decor was terrible, wall paper hanging off the walls and the ceiling was patched up where there had obviously had a leak, there were cobwebs all over the light fitting. The good points were that the bed was very clean and the view from the room was beautiful.

The area from our room to the reception/bar area stank of damp and I would not have wanted to be in a room around there.

We went to breakfast and on appearance it looked clean with white tablecloths. I was very wary after the seeing the 2* food hygiene. There was grapefuit and prunes and a bowl with cereal in a room as you come into the dining room that again was dark and dingy. The orange juice I am sure had been watered down. Tea and coffee was fine. The cooked breakfast was well, what can I say, uneatable as it was just luke warm but was so dry and stewed up you cold not cut it.

I can stay at the Hilton less than I paid for this hotel and would get good value for money but I certainly would not pay £112 again for this. I would say this hotel needs the BBC or ITV Programme The Hotel Inspector there to sort it out.

Would I return - no sorry I would not.
