Well I have to agree with some of the negative reviews on this hotel. It is tired and badly needs to be refurbished. Meals are not that inspiring either Ok if you like meat and 2 veg. I do have to agree though that the staff are very nice and friendly and do try to make a success of it....

The hotel is a bit dated but the staff were welcoming, the rooms clean, the beds comfortable and the food was very good (not too much choice but well cooked and presented). There...

"Tired and dated" describes it well - it was ok, not more. It was clean, bed linen crisp, loads of tea/coffee in room - but no biccies or toiletries! Staff were pleasant an friendly. As we were a coach party, mealtimes felt a bit holiday-camp-ish; plates dished up high but I'd prefer e.g. vegetables served in bowls on the table....

My wife an I had a very good weekend stayed here for three nights and the location is good, lots to see and do, nice and relaxing, very helpful staff in all areas of this hotel. The staff are not related but their is a family feel to the way the hotel is presented, which is very good.
