TO GET BEST RATES BOOK DIRECT WITH THE HOTEL Varley House was built at the turn of the 20th Century for Officers recuperating from the Boer War. Hence we have grand rooms with high ceilings which make your stay even more pleasant than you expected. We have a spacious lounge where you can sit and chat, play games, or just read whilst enjoying a drink purchased from our bar. This is a nice quiet establishment ideally suited for the coastal path for walkers, opposite Hillsborough Nature reserve, and a good stopping point for those wanting to travel to Lundy island. Also all of our rooms have a stunning view of our local scenery. Come and enjoy the personal touch from ourselves, where we go out of our way to help you enjoy your stay no matter how short

An elegant Edwardian gem retaining its original character and many fine features. Conveniently situated Close to the town centre-either a brisk walk to work up an appetite ,or short taxi ride and cheap only £3:80! The room was very spacious and beautifully clean, with a large bathroom and quality shower. Unfortunately, we were due to leave prior to breakfast being served to get to Lundy island. The proprietor very kindly organised breakfast bags, with various treats at no extra cost. We will definitely return and use again.

Lovely b n b .Felt very Covid safe. We had a large room with a sea view, all toiletries provided and a wide range of hot drinks. Breakfast was very well organised, very tasty and such a wide variety. Rod made you feel at home. The only downside is hotel is on a hill just outside town but hey I enjoyed the walk

Cheap & clean B& B. Situated 10 minutes from the town. Very nice breakfast served in a somewhat dated room. Nice walk through a park. Half way down you can find a pub with a thatched roof. They serve dinner in or out on a big terrace. The only nice things to do or see around are the costal paths.
