We booked this last minute without checking tripadvisor - and then were terrified by the reviews. The guy that worked the front desk was really nice and helpful, and overall the room was fine but the hotel was in need of an update/rethink. Breakfast was sadly not great for £8. The shower varied massively in water pressure and the promised...

Many thanks for your review. We are please to say we are now the new owners of the bussiness, we also have the Columba House Hotel in Kingussie and will be working close in hand to bring the 2 to the same standards.

Be careful when reading all poor reviews!! On arrival in does look 'closed' as there was only 1 car in carpark which was guy running it. Got to run, room was cold but he fixed that with no hassle and was very helpful. Room was bit dated but for age of the house come on what to you expect. Unfortunately...

When we arrived in kingussie we drove past the hotel and it looked closed. We parked in the car park and made out way to reception for the door to be locked . The man who presumably owns the place opened the door to us but never actually introduced himself to us. We were given a key and directions to...

The hotel is pretty good for its category. The owner is very friendly and helpful, it is positioned in the very small town of Kingussie and you can walk throughout it in 10 minutes, there are a couple of places where you can eat and one supermarket too. The cleanliness is not the best that I have ever seen, but...

The Scot House in Kingussie is an impressive Victorian house in a prominent position. It gives the impression of a place which used to be quite luxurious, but now requires some attention. The reception area, lounge/bar and other public areas were just a little dingy. The Wi-Fi only worked downstairs, for some reason. The restaurant was closed 'because the chef...

I had such high hopes for this hotel, but was quite disappointed. This hotel could be so great, and it appears the staff is trying, but it has a long way to go. It's in desperate need of repair and updating. On the plus side, the manager on duty was very friendly, the room was large and the breakfast was...

Sadly not the best night I've ever had in an hotel. There was dust everywhere, the bathroom really wasn't clean, there was a mouldy shower curtain and the toilet could've done with some bleach. But I could've forgiven all that if the bed had been comfortable, but it was like sleeping on a brick. I got maybe an hour's sleep...

We had booked in to the Scott house hotel for 2 nights bed and breakfast as we were attending a local wedding. As it was a special weekend for my partner and I, I decides to book the 'King Sized room with jacuzzi bath" I forget what number it was. We checked in and went up to our room. I...
