The whole room was dirty : on the dresser there was still cake crumbs. The bathroom might not have see a sponge since a very long time. Disgusting! Everything is second hand (less to be said) : the spring of the mattress may cut your feet. There is only one restaurant in the village in the outdoor activity center. And...

Booked the room for 6 people and advised on booking that we would not be arriving till around midnight. Arrived at the hotel (more like a hostel) and there was nobody to be found to check us in. After searching the entire property for the owner we decided to head upstairs and found a key in the lock of a...

Amazing location. Poor room. Dirty and very cold room, the electric heater in the room did very little to heat up the room. We had a draft from the window all night. Would go somewhere else next time.

The historic Ossian hotel ceased normal operations with the untimely passing of the longtime owners. Their son Tony is giving the time warp building a long needed refresh. The rooms are clean and the water is hot. Considering most of your time in a hotel room is spent with your eyes closed the dated decor shouldn't be an issue. Its...

Myself, my better half and the kids took the notion for a spur of the moment weekend down by Badenoch and Strathspey, and after a handful of searches we came across the Ossian Lodges. We knew nothing about the house, or Kincraig for that matter, but we took a gamble. The gamble paid off! We were given a family room,...

Booked this in Jan 2015 for my East Highland Way walk This was the most expensive stay by far and should have been the best place i could get for my birthday. After a long long day of walking this hotel was a big disappointment. There was no food, no bar or drinks, a dirty room, nobody there and and...

I stayed there many years ago and it was lovely, I can only assume that it is now under new management,. But I would like to go back again one day. The room was great and the staff friendly the owners mother even knitted me a pair of socks for my hiking boots which I still have.

Location beautiful, owner and Friendly dog, lovely accommodation, I don't understand why people write bad reviews about the hotel, can you not see it is getting upgraded! This is the best place to go, just outside Aviemore!
