Had a room in main building. Good bed spacious room and shower room up a few steps.breakfast was very good served at pre booked time. The restaurant was not open a night was a bit disappointed. Had to go down town. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would take family to stay if wanted to be in that area.

Friendly staff, nice location and a wonderful country house. I was given a room in the Courtyard and it was, sadly, tired & cold and didn't have the ambience of the main house. I think the new owners will improve this over time but it does need quite a bit of investment. The restaurant was only open for breakfast but...

Set in the beautiful town of Blairgowrie in lovely grounds, with beautiful peacocks, one of them pure white with amazing blue eyes.... our stay could not have been better, from the service to the room to the breakfast and the hospitality, the hotel could not have done any more, it was perfect.

Lovely Hotel and grounds, very welcoming, rooms spotless and comfortable. Cater for dogs which was a bonus for us, loved the fact they had little cottages in the courtyard where the dogs could play. Good breakfast and service.

Pleasant Victorian building tucked away in its own grounds but within easy walking distance of the centre of Blairgowrie. It is a safe place to park your motorbike overnight. Very good light clean room. Good breakfast. Ideal overnight stop and excellent value.

We wanted a hotel where we could take our dog, but we weren't even happy for our dog to lie on the carpet of the courtyard room. The room and bathroom were filthy with an old contact lens in the sink and hair, cobwebs and fluff on the floors. The room was damp and felt as though it had been...

Booked what looked liked a lovely country house hotel via hotels.com. Arrived 20 minutes before the suggested check in time of 3pm to find the hotel in darkness with a dodgy sheet of paper on the front door with a mobile phone number. When this number and the number from the web site both ended with an answering machine. We...

This was simply an awful stay at a hotel which looked good on the Internet. We had booked what was described as a courtyard room which we thought would be a very pleasant option in a Scottish country house. Arguably it was a courtyard but it had an unattended garden and we had to negotiate the dog lead which stretched...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Altamount House Hotel in Blairgowrie has reopened in March 2014 under new owners after extensive refurbishments. It is a family run business and we like to think that we can provide you with a "home from home" experience in one of Scotland's most magnificent Counties. The Georgian house was built as a private home in 1800, and although restored in some areas we have managed to maintain all of its Periodic Charm. Altamount House is set within 6 acres of beautifully peaceful gardens and mature woodlands in the heart of Perthshire and we welcome you from near or afar. Although the Hotel is only a 5 minute walk into the Blairgowrie town centre, it is very quiet and secluded in its grounds, which makes it a perfect venue for Weddings, Conferences or just a romantic break for 2!!! If you prefer a more action packed holiday Golf, Fishing, Shooting and Skiing are all on our doorstep. Rosemount and Lansdowne Championship Golf courses are just 1 mile away, with a further 40 courses within 10-30 minutes from us. ... more   less
