No probs recommending this place, nothing out the ordinary food wise, but fine, beautiful setting, and the sound of the waves a few feet away and the sea air makes it all very agreeable. Can be a summer place or otherwise as plenty of room to eat inside

Hotel Calypso is situated right on the Beach, and each balcony has a wonderful view of San Juan de Los Terreros bay, with its fine yellow sand. The Hotel has an indoor Restaurant, but It also has a very nice Chiringuito (Beach Bar) at the side, which serves excellent food, walked across from the Hotel, Monday to Friday you can... More

Haven't stayed here but visited for lunch on the beach. They have a basis set menu, but we went for a la carte. One steak and one lamb cutlets. These were cooked in the beach bar on a wood fire. Oh my, they were cooked to perfection, accompanying food was on the small side, but had super flavours. Drinks flowed... More

A nice little hotel. You can easily overlook the quirky basics of a two star hotel just for the views and location. Beach bums will love it. The staff try very hard and with a bit of updating this could be a winner. Very nice beach bar area with nice food (large portions be warned)

This hotel will be overlooked by a lot of people purely because it has only 2 stars. However, having just spent a weekend at this hotel, I can only say that I understand why it has only 2 stars but for value for money and location it deserves 2 more. We arrived early but tried to check in anyway, the... More

This hotel is in a wonderful position, it is right on the beach, you step out of the living area onto sand. The beach is a little dirty which is a shame as it wouldn't cost much for someone to spend an hour or two a day cleaning up the rubbish. The parking is free, the rooms are large and... More

paradise is what I would call the location of this hotel. Right on the beach and worth the extra money for sea view. We opened the door onto the balcony and the view was amazing. Hearing the waves at night was fabulous. Staff are more than helpful especially the two lovely ladies at reception. I would definitely return to this... More

We have visited this hotel a number of times over the last 10 years and often twice in a year (June + September). The hotel changed hands (as noted previously) and seemed to improve for a short while and we had high hopes. We haven't stayed here for two years and we were bitterly dissappointed with our stay. Location -... More

This hotel is in the perfect spot; sunlit balcony, wavering palms, soft sands and shallow sea, tucked at the quiet end of the bay. It's why we went. Yet it could do with a spot of TLC, a coat of paint and more.So whilst it charges top euro The Calypso really should get itself a re-tune. And if you ever... More
