The Hotel is based on the Sea Front. The best rooms are sea view, but these are substantially dearer. Our 2 rooms overlooked the back not very nice. The rooms were very clean with coffee and tea facilities.TV. Breakfast facilities and food very good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Just a few minutes walk to Town Centre. Plenty of Food...

Stayed in this hotel over Christmas. The staff were delightful and very helpful. Had a large sea view room with lovely views. The hotel was very quiet and the bar was not open apart from our first day. We had parking right at the hotel but this would probably be more of an issue in the summer although there are...

This was a terrible hotel with absolutely low value for the money I paid and very low standards compared to most hotels on the continent. There were parties going on downstairs in the bar/restaurant with noise on the street until 3am. The room was not too clean, the carpet loose, the bathroom cold and smelling of sewer. The breakfast was...

We were welcomed by a lovely receptionist who didnt look too horrified that we were wet, wind blown and sandy after a walk up to the lighthouse. A jewel in a jaded crown as Whitley bay needs some cash injection. The room was huge and front facing so i could listen to the force 10 all night from the snugness...

The Royal is on the sea front at Whitley Bay and if you get the right room then you get a lovely view out over the sea. Staff are great and the breakfast is really good. Parking can be a bit of a problem outside the hotel but it is possible to park in the residents parking around the corner...

No wifi signal in our room (sea front 1st floor), bizarrely the electric radiator was on a timer which had to be overidden by the maintenance chap. Quite a bit of noice from the road even with the windows closed. Noisey corridor and doors in the morning too. Breakfast was ok.
