Empress Hotel is an excellent location for a Christmas function with smart and comfortable entrance lounge, and a good size function room which was decorated nicely for the Christmas festivities. On the table were suitable party attire, balloons , hats etc. Disco was decent enough although dancefloor is a little limited in size. £39 excluding wine is what I might...

Dear DaveManx Thanks for your review. Our party nights offer great value and with a carvery for the meal, allows guests to have as much or as little as they like. It also means you can go back for second helpings and hence why I am surprised by your feedback that you didn't take a Yorkshire pudding, stuffing ball or...

We stayed recently for two nights in an Executive Double. Once we opened the door we were surprised by how small the room actually was. We complained to the reception staff and were then shiwn another Executive room which was nearly twice the size and with a sea view. Beds are very comfortable. Two chairs by the window, Chaise Longue,...

Dear Clive H Thanks for your recent review. I'm glad you liked the size of the room you changed to, although I am unsure if the first room you were given was an Executive room as all of these room types also have seaviews? The larger seaview rooms are at a small supplement over the smaller ones, but worth it...

Clean and well appointed hotel with friendly reception staff. Room small and a bit cluttered but excellent views and good value for money. Good quality and hearty breakfast to set you up for the day. Very acceptable evening meal if a little pricey.

Stayed her for 3 nights for work. Nice central location close to restaurant and pubs as after a days work it was nice to unwind! Room had coffee/tea making facilities and the ensuite shower was powerful. Breakfast was buffet style with a lot of varieties of hot and cold options. Staff were very friendly and attentive. I would definitely stay...

After initial issues with our allocated room to the rear of the hotel, we were upgraded to a sea view room. If you are planning on booking this hotel I would go for one of those. The reception area is very nice.We had food at the hotel on two of our three nights which we found to be very good...

We were very happy with our stay here. £75 per night for a double room overlooking the sea and breakfast included. The hotel is well located near the town centre and whilst the room was small the dining and sitting areas ae spacious. I would be happy to stay there again.

Reception friendly, and looks welcoming. Double room rather small, hard bed, flimsy cheaper style man made fibre duvet, flat pillows. Despite that slept OK, though it had been a long day! Bathroom small, shower over bath, clingy style shower curtain. Basic OK breakfast, sausages appeared best to avoid. Breakfast staff determined to divest the table of anything I hadn't touched...

The hotel is placed in the midpoint of the Promeneade on Douglas speech so it is easy to get everywhere in Douglas from one end of the prom to the other. The rooms were comfortable, very warm, we had to turn the radiator off most nights to keep it cool enough and the room was cleaned very well every day....
