We enjoyed our 2 nights stay at the Empress, in a sea view room on level 3. The room is newly renovated and very comfortable, as everything we needed. The staff are friendly and excellent, and the food at the bar was pretty good. Slightly far away from the "city centre" but there is a bus stop (and horse tram...

Visited on a recent business trip to the island, rooms and carpet a bit tired but was clean and had a good powerful shower. Bar area relaxing with sky sports etc to relax on the evening. Would return again.

A splendid stay on Douglas with a hotel that met all my needs. The conservatory bar is a splendid place to be. The food was good, particularly breakfast - though there was no fried bread. The room did its job.

I visited this hotel a week ago as part of the GB Tours. After an ardeous sail on the ferry,tp the Isle of Man.The hotel a short trip away from the ferry port. This great hotel gleams at you from the promenade.A beast of a building stands out from the rest..with its look at me statement...with its green fronted glass...

We had a budget room at the rear of the hotel which was fine for the length of time we were in it. It was a bit on the small side with minimal storage space. The Hotel, it's staff, the restaurants and the amenities were excellent. The breakfast was huge. The sauna was fine. The only bad point was that...

Dear norbertdent Thanks for a great review. The rooms at the front of the hotel are much larger and have recently been totally refurbished and offer a great view and interior for just a small upgrade per night and I hope you do try these on your next visit to us. I will also investigate why housekeeping didn't vacuum during...

My husband and I have just spent 5 days at this hotel and we have been very very impressed. Our room was facing the seafront and very clean, had everything that you need. The breakfast in this hotel was one of the best we have ever had, piping hot every morning and a great selection. We ate in the hotel...

Great location on the promenade with lovely views to sea and fairly central to everything. Very agreeable and attentive staff, good value and good food, best beer around. Bar staff went the extra mile. Room a little on the small side but was clean and had everything I needed. I will stop here again.

I have stayed here before when on business in Douglas, and the hotel is reasonably priced, if little faded around the edges; but in a good location. However, this time around I was not impressed - my bijou room appeared to be shoe-horned into an awkward corner at the rear of the hotel... I tried several times on arrival to...
