The room was good value for money paid but outdated in decor. It was nothing like the pictures shown on the web site. Can only assume they have not renovated that far yet! Bathroom very dated and carpet not a good idea! Arrived to find a towel crumpled on the bed and another on the side (rather tatty) can only...

As several other reviews have mentioned, this hotel is very good for the price - just over £40 a night for bed and breakfast. We had the 4 poster bed which was in a large room with bath and shower and a bay window overlooking the front of the hotel and with a view of the sea. Staff were OK...

We bòoked this hotel pretty much at the last minute, I know the Island very well, I went to boarding school there, and to be honest it's incredibly beautiful. I know the reviews a tad late, but was hesitant, due honestly to nostalga, but really have to say the place is a complete disaster, let it be said, I've traveled...

The room was fair for the price and clean enough. HOWEVER...staff were rude and desperately needing some customer service training. No parking available as car park too small for the amount of guests (at the end of October out of season as well!). Pool freezing, sauna turned off. Breakfast staff nice enough but completely over worked and under staffed -...

My girlfriend and I spent two nights here while on a motorcycle tour of the Island. We had a large double room with balcony that had views of the sea in the distance. The room was very clean and pleasant, the view was lovely and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a pool on the ground...

The hotel was just as we expected from other reviews. In a great location and with friendly and helpful staff but very much in need of an upgrade. Décor in general is scruffy, worn carpets, lamp in our room held together with insulation tape, when full muddy front lawn is used as a car park etc etc. Breakfast is basic...

We booked this for a Saturday night stay - couple plus teenager in separate room. We were arriving after a full day on the island and had rung ahead to check timings - arrived about 9pm and met by a lovely lady receptionist. She checked with the teenager he was happy with his room (not close to ours) and was...

I would get why everyone is complaining about this hotel if it was expensive, but it's not. You get what you pay for. Yes it's dated, but the whole of the island is pretty much dated. Room was good, so was breakfast. Staff were lovely and helped you with anything you needed. Didn't use the pool so can't comment on...

Morning Catherine, thank you so much for choosing the Melbourne Ardenlea for your visit to the Isle of Wight, and for your lovely review of us. We are addressing the car park issue, we have 54 rooms so we need a huge space for car park, and we have been full to capacity over the half term. We will be...

For the price its fine. Dont expect the hilton or a walm swimming pool. Its run down needs a lot of tlc. Staff friendly breakfast surprisingly good. Hotel is always hot pity the pipes dont go under the pool as its freezing. Room 44 very small and not a double bed. Noise from doors and staff talking. Room 23 much...

Thank you for your review, regarding the photographs of bar ceiling you have taken and published, we unfortunately had a burst pipe around 6am in the morning and this caused an issue with our ceiling. We did however have this repaired by the same afternoon, the photograph you kindly took of the boarding showing this. We had closed the bar...

Family room a little dated, but excellent value for money. Good bathroom, tea & coffee making facilities. Lots of creaking floorboards overhead in the middle of the night. Very good breakfast. We were here for the theatre, and this was just a short walk away.

Thank you very much for reviewing our hotel, and we are so happy you enjoyed your time here with us. Sorry about the creaky floorboards, the hotel is 1872 and unfortunately the beautiful character of the hotel, comes a some small costs, we do hope it didn't disturb you too much. I agree, the theatre is a wonderful place, and...
