We always stay at Luccombe Manor when we travel to the island and as always it was fantastic. The rooms are really well appointed and clean with really comfortable beds, and the views from the sea facing rooms are spectacular particularly the sun rise. The staff are really welcoming and happy to help you if needed. The breakfast is also excellent with lots of choices. The gentleman who works on an evening in the bar is really friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning in the near future.

Just returned from a 2 night weekend stay at Luccombe Manor, we thoroughly enjoyed this hotel and had a wonderful break. The hotel itself is very clean, spacious and incredibly dog friendly. They have thought of everything from wash down facilities outside the hotel, to fresh towels in the porch, bowls of free treats in the reception area, and a lovely doggy goodie bag for our furry friend in the hotel room. If you are looking for a dog friendly break by the beach, then this hotel is ideal for that.
We stayed in a standard double room (number 7) that was the perfect size for a couple and a small dog, bathroom was a little on the small side but adequate for a short break. Shower was really lovely, hot and powerful which was an added bonus so no complaints there. The temperature in the room was very hot to our suprise, we had the fan on for most of the evening whilst sleeping as it was just too hot. Breakfast was lovely, i enjoyed the continental option much more than the cooked breakfast on the set menu. The restaurant area was well kept, clean and tidy with a lovely view overlooking Shankin beach.. plus.. your dog can join you at breakfast which was nice. We booked Afternoon Tea plus a doggy Afternoon Tea at Luccombe Hall hotel directly opposite which we really enjoyed. There was the right amount of cakes plus 1 scone and 4 finger sandwiches each, sadly we were the only guests in the dog friendly area so not much of an atmosphere, as a suggestion, music could be played gently in the background. Our dog loved the doggy afternoon tea, compliments to the staff for making the tea very well presented for the dogs. We thought the staff were incredibly friendly and gave very good customer service, everyone appeared to love dogs and gave them attention whilst serving which was appreciated. In terms of location, Shanklin village is so close approximately 5 to 10 min walk away, and full of restaurants and bars. The beach is also very close, only a short walk down the hill then your right on the most beautiful beach. Overall we absolutely loved our stay and would happily return. Thank you to all the staff.

In a delightful location, Luccombe Manor was easy to find, overlooking some stunning cliff top scenery. There is a large car park, and we were warmly welcomed on our first day and shown to our lovely room. We had room 7, which was a “standard” room, south/west facing. It had a nice big window with black out blind, and although it looked out over a flat roof, you were able to see the sea and distant cliffs. Comfortable bed, dressing table, plenty of drawers and wardrobe space, and a nice sized shower room. Mini toiletries were provided, as were tea and coffee making facilities, including a regular supply of tasty biscuits. It was a hot week in September, so we were lucky enough to have a fan in the bedroom.
Breakfast was splendid spaced out in their conservatory and dining room. Buffet style for cereals, plentiful fruit, toast, pastries etc, and on order you could enjoy a delicious Full English (including vegetarian option) Evening meals could be taken at the next-door sister hotel, which were also lovely. We enjoyed a couple of lunches, which could be enjoyed anywhere in the grounds. Drinks could also be had anywhere (but plastic glasses were used by the pool areas) Everything was reasonably priced.
We loved that there were lots of spaces to sit outside (and in) close to or away from others. The swimming pool was lovely, and you could use it at the sister hotel as well as their indoor pool and sauna. Pool towels were provided.
At all times the staff were friendly and helpful and always wanted to chat.
There were steps nearby to the beach which were closed off (we think due to rock erosion) Also closed off was a short cut to the delightful little village. But, the long route along the road was fine. Shanklin Chine was a delight to walk through to and from the beach and promenade area.
The hotel is very dog friendly, everything thought of if you took your dog, including towels, a wash area for muddy paws, doggy afternoon tea, there are hooks in the lawns by the pool so they can be tethered whilst you enjoy a dip. We were dismayed that one family’s dog was not on a lead and whilst the family were all in the pool, their dog charged round and round the pool yapping. This cut short our otherwise pleasant afternoon by the pool :(

I cannot fault this hotel at all. I certainly believe the star rating should be up from 3 to a 4 star. Everywhere was so clean and quiet, and obviously being a doggy hotel, it was lovely to just be able to bring the dog down to breakfast each morning......dogs get there sausages, while us greedy humans could eat and eat! There was a fruit salad on the counter that looked to beautiful to eat. It was so cleverly well presented and so much of it. Cereals, croissants, cakes, cooked breakfast, juices, coffee etc. I really did feel well fed.
Outside the misty autumn air even made the hotel seem even prettier to consider, as red squirrels were running around playing , to the sound of crunchy red leaves underfoot just made our autumn 2 night work break seem less hard to do!!!
The bedrooms are cleans, a bit scuffed in places, but it was clean. The bed was soft and I slept well. Creaky floor boards add a little interest to this old hotel.
I've only ever walked by this hotel over the years, and hadnt taken much interest in it at all. , I have usually been gazing lovingly out to see etc. This will now all change. Now I know that I wont have to be without my little rico on my next business meeting, then I hope this hotel will allow me and him to return again same time same place next year
Thanks to luscombe for the doggy treats to. Wot a bagful all doggies receive.

As usual very friendly staff and very dog friendly. Our room had obviously been refurbished and was clean. We were loaned a dog bed, so didn't have to bring one from home. Tea and coffee making in the room. Only problem, couldn't get the kettle under the tap, so filled it with a mug. Always replenished bountifully. Only down on the room, one morning with a shampooed head, the water went off for a few minutes. Breakfast is always cooked fresh and all dogs offered a sausage. The food was excellent. We ate in their sister hotel for dinner. They offer a small menu which changes and again is cooked to order well. One officious waiter told us off for taking our dog the way we used last year with no problem. Otherwise we found the staff helpful and friendly.

Fantastic hotel! Service was impeccable, room was lovely, staff are sooooo friendly. This is a gem of a hotel where the staff appear genuinely proud of their working environment. Strongly recommend and whilst we didn’t bring our dogs it is very dog friendly.

We have visited once before and we loved it so much that we came back with several members of our family group to celebrate a big birthday. We booked a sea view room this time and we were impressed that it was well equipped with fresh milk in the fridge, coffee maker, water and the view was stunning! What we love about this hotel is its position on the cliff edge, its gardens and also the park and coastal walks nearby. We used the indoor swimming pool this time and this was also great with its jungle theme and hot tub. The staff are all really friendly and helpful and the food delicious. We will definitely be back for a third visit!

We had a lovely week staying at Luccombe Manor Hotel with our miniature poodle.
It is probably the most dog friendly hotel I’ve ever stayed at and they cater for all your fury friend’s needs perfectly! Dogs are permitted to accompany owners to breakfast, even getting their very own sausage. Your dog can also join you for dinner, which is served in the neighbouring Luccombe Hall Hotel.
We stayed in room 14 and it was very comfortable and clean, if a little hot! The average outdoor temperature during our stay was only 19/20 degrees but air conditioning would be a very positive addition as the two fans didn’t do much to cool the room. The three rooms in this particular area would also benefit from soft closing doors as the doors do make a lot of noise and soundproofing between the rooms wasn’t great.
Breakfast at Luccombe Manor was excellent. Every morning a beautiful fresh fruit salad, a good selection of cereals, juices, pastries and toast were all available (buffet style), along with a selection of cooked options served to the table.
Dinner was acceptable but not outstanding. The menu selection was changed daily and gave options catering for most tastes. We ate in the hotel every evening and on some occasions the ambiance was slightly lacking. However, high quality live music was provided on most evenings, which we really enjoyed.
The location of the hotel is lovely. It was a shame that the steps leading directly down to the beach were closed due to subsidence. This made early morning walks on the beach before breakfast difficult. You do get complimentary passes to use the nearby Chine but unfortunately this does not open until 10am.
There are two outdoor swimming pools available to use, which were great. One suggestion for the hotel might be to introduce an ‘adults only’ swim session from 7-8am in one of the pools. A swim before breakfast would have been lovely but the 8am pool opening time made it tight for those wanting a good swim before showering and doing hair/makeup for breakfast.
I’ve saved the best bit to last though! The staff were all AMAZING! From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. To have such a happy, friendly and hard working team is truly exceptional!
Thank you very much Luccombe Manor for a wonderful, relaxing week.
Highly recommended!

· From the outset the welcome from Julie was friendly, professional, explaining the services at the hotel and then showing me to my room. The room was good for my one night stay, with a large bathroom with bath and shower (a bonus) and I have to say the bed was quite possibly the most comfortable I have ever slept in. I am ex Aircrew and over the past 50 odd years have experienced both the best and the worst of sleeping arrangements. In the morning I was greeted by Brooke on the front desk, again very friendly , knowledgeable and professional, she explained how the breakfast service worked and I was seated in the conservatory with a wonderful view over Shanklin bay down to Culver Cliff. The breakfast itself was delicious, also set it was good that you can mix and match and order ad hoc from the menu, either upsizing or downsizing your plate. Parking is very good and the grounds excellent, possibly not in their best light due to the time of year. The location is perfect for those who want to fully explore the Island, and you can also walk into Shanklin Old Village and enjoy what it has to offer. I can particularly recommend Pavarotti's Italian Restaurant, excellent food at reasonable prices and also The Village Inn for a drink and pub food if it is your choice Overall an excellent stay, I particularly like that it is dog friendly. If you want to get the best from Luccombe Manor Hotel then book a sea view room, on some days it can beat the Mediterranean for views!

Standard rooms are situated on the sides of the hotel that do not face the sea and do not have a sea view. We do not accept dogs in any of our seafacing rooms.
