The initial look of this hotel is lovely and we had the warmest welcome by the friendliest receptionist ever. We were warned there was a function on and so there would be noise till 12, but this did not bother us at all. The meal we had here was fantastic, freshly cooked and piping hot. Reasonably priced and plenty of...

As a family we have been going to the Hallgarth Manor for 24 years and have never experienced anything other than outstanding service and wonderfully presented food. We have spent many Christmas's and held numerous special event / birthday celebrations there. Today is a sad day as we have learnt that the Maitre'd (John) is leaving the company. I would...

The staff especially Christine and John are...

Stayed here for 2 nights on business. On night 1 I arrived at about 10.30 and the room was absolutely freezing. There was no heating on and no way to put any on even though it was only 7 degrees outside. There was no shower, only a bath without any form of shower head attached. I complained in the morning...

My recent stay at Hallgarth was very pleasant (although i did get the room that a couple had reviewed previously). The room floor was uneven( an old building) the tap in the bathroom was a bit loose and it could spray you if turned on quickly (not a problem, i quickly got the hang of it). The window seat although...

It is easy to see why there are a wide rage of ratings for Hallgarth Manor. Some of what you get is very good however there is room for improvement. The Pro's and Con's are it's a grand old building. It is not lavish and would benefit from some maintenance but overall proved to be an enjoyable stay. Check in...
