Myself and the Mrs stayed 3 nights in September. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was substantial and well cooked. We were made very welcome by the owner and staff, as well as the locals when we ventured into the bar on a couple of evenings. Those who appreciate good real ale and sitting near a cosy...

We stayed as a couple for two nights and were made to feel really welcome by all the staff and local regulars. We visited Durham to explore the old City and try to solve a murder mystery trail. The Vic is perfectly located as it is only 5 minutes walk to the Cathedral/Castle and 8 minutes to the Market Place....

The VIctoria Inn - when you walk to the pub its like walking back in time but in a lovely way. I stayed there for 3 nights in room 6 which has a 4 poster bed in it. Slept like a baby -one of the most comfortable, snuggliest beds I have slept in for a long time.(didn't really want to get...

We stayed for a few days in June. Spacious rooms, friendly host, off street parking, close to Cathedral, good breakfast, fine cook. Above pub, but not noisy, and pub very friendly. Good Spanish restaurant across the street.

Spent a very enjoyable 5 night stay in Victoria Inn, Durham. Made more enjoyable because of the wonderful location, 5 mins walk to city centre. Made to feel extremely welcome by all staff, especially the ladies who cooked breakfast and looked after the housekeeping. They started your day not only with a hearty breakfast of your choice but also friendly...

The statement is true, magnificient, traditional and worthy of its 4 star rating! No Jukebox nor pool table but a true and unspoilt Inn. The Breakfast was outstanding (Head Chef - Maureen) and Head Housekeeper Christine really enhanced out stay! The Owner was also most welcoming. Recommended to us by Durham Tourist Information Office (Margaret Goodchild) and a perfect choice!...

Really characterful B & B above the pub. lovely room, comfortable bed, modern bathroom and a truly excellent breakfast - all this above an authentic CAMRA pub and only a few minutes walk from the city centre with free parking. Even the rain didn't upset us

The snug is particularly cozy . The bedrooms are very comfortable and a superb full breakfast served in the morning . Lots of...

We have stayed here twice now. On both occasions for the Durham Miners Gala. The two rooms we have stayed in have both been of a good size. As a thank you for our booking the landlord gave us a free bottle of wine which was very much appreciated. Breakfasts are freshly cooked and very good. The bar also has...

The accommodation is adequate - certainly not smart or sophisticated, but then, it isn't marketed as such. The room we stayed in was small but the beds were comfortable and the bathroom clean. It was not a room to relax and spend time in. It's convenient for the river, cathedral and shopping area, and it's not expensive.
