Stayed for 1 night on New Year's Day. All staff friendly, the hotel is small but welcoming. Our room was on the first floor overlooking the back garden area. The room was small but for a nights stay was fine and it was very comfortable and clean. The bathroom was very small also, very tight squeeze with way it's designed...

Booked an executive room for Christmas package and wasn't disappointed. Room was large and clean with a comfortable king size poster bed. Only downside was that pillows were a bit on the hard side. I'm sure staff would have replaced them had I bothered to complain. Large well equipped bathroom with good toiletries. Sadly the old window frames did let...

Booked in October for Christmas lunch and maybe a little more expensive than some locals hotels or pubs, I can only say it was worth every penny. The young waiters and waitresses were very professional and curtious and served us both with a smile and never rushed us through our courses. Each course was fantastic and plentiful and our table...

I'd heard a lot of good things so was eager to check this out. First of all I'd like to say how friendly, polite, helpful and accommodating the staff are. Really cosy atmosphere and great choice on the menu. Food was served cooked to order and piping hot. Very generous portions and at a reasonable price! I'll definitely be returning...

I was absolutely delighted to have found this little gem of a hotel. Wonderful staff. Wonderful room and a decent breakfast with lots of fresh strawberries. Looking forward to staying there again next year.

Visit quite often as it's close to our home. Friendly staff, nice ambience and excellent quality food at reasonable prices. Service is efficient with a smile. Will definitely go again and again. Plenty of entertainment nights with good quality acts. Lots of car parking.

We were delighted by the quality of the Christmas Lunch served as part of the afternoon show. The food was first class, although the service was third class, and did let Bowburn Hall down. The staff just need to be trained in the art of serving food to large numbers. Jeff Dingle was outstanding! Highly recommended.

Bowburn Hall is an ideal location to stay when visiting Durham. Food is average, drinks quite expensive plus side staff are friendly and lovely garden. Overall a decent hotel in a good location to visit local attractions
