I stayed in Collingwood for 2 nights during September 2016 for a conference at the University as other hotels seemed to be very expensive. My room was designed for a disabled student, so was spacious, very clean, lovely bathroom and comfortable bed so it was just somewhere to lay my head. It was a bit of a hike from the...

We stayed here as part of a national fishing competition which was pre-paid. I have no idea what it costs to stay here, so I can't comment on value for money. We usually stay in a hotel and so apart from the rooms it was not a lot different. The rooms- Obviously single student accommodation. Single bed with not a...

Collingwood College could best be described as awful. The accomodation that I was in was described by the authorities of the University in need of renovation. What a place to put a Conference Delegate. The window handles were in poor order apart from anything else. A bar was mentioned in Conference notes , there was no bar nor indeed any...

I stayed here for a conference. The location is good and it was nice to be in the same location as the other conference delegates. The documentation I was sent from collingwood gave me the wrong impression and it looks much nicer in the materials. This is student accommodation and really needs some updating. Rooms are very basic and the...

Stayed here as part of a weekend conference - en suite room with a great shower and a very comfortable bed. I don't know why we were accommodated on the top floor at the furthest end of the building though especially when the accommodation wasn't particularly full. Food was excellent a great choice for different diets. It is basic but...

This seemed a basic, affordable choice for a weekend when Durham was packed with visitors. It's certainly basic, though fairly clean. Mattresses were dreadful. On our first night, we were given the key for someone else's room - luckily, we noticed this before he returned! At £87.50/night, it wasn't exactly cheap, and certainly not worth it.

- Black mould on the ceiling and walls of the bedroom and extensively in the shower en suite - Filthy room conditions (stains on chairs, dirt on floor and surfaces from human hairs in the sink to dead moths and silverfish in the bedroom) - Broken fixtures (towel rail snapped off, clogged and broken ventilators, rusty plumbing and broken cold...

Stayed here a couple of times this summer, and have used other Durham colleges in the past. The accommodation is fairly basic, but clean and well maintained. Some rooms are a fair walk from reception and the dining hall. En suite rooms available. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided in the room, there is a radio but no TV....

Stayed in a twin en-suite with my Mum for one night. I'd been a Durham student 13 years ago in a neighbouring college, so had a fair idea of the standard of accommodation we were to receive, but we were pleasantly surprised. Spotlessly clean, spacious and not a "beaten-up" room like some student digs can be. Admittedly, no TV, but...

First experience of staying in student accommodation during holiday period. It was clean and well kept with very good breakfast. Staff were friendly and there was a good atmosphere. Only drawbacks were lack of WiFi and TVs in rooms but the price was very reasonable for what was on offer
