Got charged £130 per night when we had been quoted £85 over the phone for what was allegedly a deluxe double which was actually single beds pushed together with single duvet covers with a blanket down the middle to cover this fact up, and a shower that my very tall husband struggled to fit in. Bathroom needs more attention to...

Less of a hotel, more of a b&b. Room nicely decorated, bed comfy, wifi excellent, cleanliness superb, room size generous. Quaint period features like sash windows that open and close easily. Beautiful breakfast room, nicely cooked brekkie with, for meat lovers, quite an outstanding sausage! First time I've had an amuse-bouche at breakfast too. It's on a busy junction and...

We visited here from Saturday to Sunday. Really good location for Barnstaple. Fantastic hotel, very good service. Very friendly and helpful. Rooms very nice and all you need. Breakfast was the highlight of our stay. Lots to choose from!

Lovely small hotel, reasonably priced. The owners/managers are very helpful and receptive and the breakfast delicious. I stayed in their smallest room, which I would not stay in again as it was very small - probably better suited for an older child or teenager - but I would stay at the hotel again. Thanks very much.

Prime location close to town centre although a little traffic noise. Single en-suite rooms are small but adequate for a couple of nights. Excellent breakfast. Good service. proprietor very helpful in all respects.

Pleasantly situated for walking around town. My room (7) was spacious& quiet, and the bed comfortable. Decor in the public areas is showing its age, and theres no lounge. Breakfast was adequate. Parking is a problem, and at £90 I think it's a bit overpriced.

Very helpful owner who moved me from room 8 which does not have a toilet to another room. Only problem was it was the coldest night of the winter and the room was quite cold. However, it was comfortable, clean and the breakfast was great. Would certainly go there again.

Lovely little gem of a hotel. The owners warm, welcoming and truly care about getting it right - nice little touches evident - lots of local produce and products, great location and excellent breakfast - especially the kippers!
