A nice bar with a warm friendly barman. We had a few beers and really enjoyed the atmosphere in the pub. It was a Tuesday so not very busy and I'm sure it would be great fun at weekends. Real ale was not good. I drink a lot of it and it was a bad one however that's probably just...

As soon as we walked through the doors we were struck by the stale foul odor. The bar staff were lovely but the place was grimy and the toilets had not been cleaned in weeks - dust covered the cistern. We stayed for a swift half and moved on.

Decor is fine has loud music so guess it is mainly for the youngsters. Most of their beer is not cask conditioned so there is limited choice of traditional beers. We had little choice but to try Trooper which at 4.8% was stronger than we prefer. Not a Trooper fan, managed to down most of it somehow. Nicely decorated typical...

Had an amazing meal for lunch, homemade tempura cod loin fish fingers served in a bap with chips & salad accompanied by homemade tartare sauce. Brilliant staff (Greg/Rich) & friendly atmosphere. In the heart of Barnstaple located near the queens theatre it offers a great night life with entrainment.

There is an old saying that the customer is always right however, In this instance you aren't. You can't get food poisoning that quick especially from a product that has been deep fried at a high temperature. If you had been to your doctor he would tell you the same, food poisoning can last for up to 4/5 days, but...

I love The Olive Branch, it is one of my favourite pubs in Barnstaple. I call in once a week if I can with family members for lunch on cinema day. The portion sizes are excellent, and prices are very reasonable, never had an issue with the food at all apart from it is terrible for my diet... The staff...

I was unable to overlook the sticky bedroom carpet, and the noise from the street and the old mattress and grubby walls and doors. Because I saw some really talented Karaoke stars during the evening. Not only was this pure quality singing but when I went upstairs to bed, just in case I couldn't hear it through the floor there...

The Olive Branch doesn't pretend to be anything other than a traditional pub with entertainment. I love The Olive Branch. During the daytime, it's quiet, so you can enjoy a nice meal and a chat. The food is good- cooked to order and value for money, like I said, they don't pretend to be a bistro or fine dining restaurant,...
