Decided to order take away as a treat for my lockdown birthday, I’ve never eaten here before! We ordered 3 courses each! Due to flooding I was a little late collecting the meal! I was so impressed! The host said they had put my food back in oven to keep it warm and although they were obviously waiting for me to collect they did not make me feel bad! So the service was great! The food was excellent, all 3 courses were delicious! Brilliant value for money, the portions were large and all food very tasty and high quality! We thoroughly enjoyed the meal! Really can’t praise it high enough! We will definitely treat ourselves again! Thanks Slaters!

Very pleasant and comfortable country hotel about 4 miles from Keele University (much easier than trying to stay in Newcastle itself). Ground floor accessible rooms for people with restricted mobility (I use a wheelchair).) Extremely helpful and welcoming staff. Popular restaurant on site can be busy, worth booking table ahead. Reassuring to see a hotel so proactive with anti COVID-19 measures, eg temperature checks on arrival. Marked down for disappointing breakfast. No fruit, yoghurt or fresh juice. Otherwise perfect.

Just had the most amazing Sunday lunch prepared as a takeaway from Slaters. Meal for 4 ... whole roast chicken, roast potatoes, carrots, cabbage, cauliflower, yorkshire’s, stuffing, pigs in blankets and gravy ... all for £35 (and there’s enough for 6!)👍 They’re doing choice of lunch on Sundays and meals Thurs, Fri and Saturday evenings, highly recommended.

Staff are very good and the food is excellent- the only thing I will say is it gets very very hot inside the inn ( which put me off my food). It’s a lovely lovely place- definitely a beautiful wedding venue too

we have just attended a family wedding at slaters this weekend. what a fantastic job the staff put on. everything seemed perfect. the food was great, also the wine we had with the meal. the staff very pleasant and helpful. would definitely recommend this venue.
