Samantha and I fell in love with The Priory more than 3 years ago and meeting Serena made our mind up that this was the perfect venue for our wedding! Serena was absolutely amazing from day one,we really can't thank her enough for her endless support. Nothing was too much trouble, every request or thought we had for our special... More

We had our wedding reception here. Serena was brilliant in helping us get organised prior to the day. The Cottages, reception rooms and marque were fantastic. The grounds are lovely as are the fields at the back of the cottages. We had access from 11am on the Friday to set up for our day on the Saturday. The only negative... More

These cottages are finished to a very high standard. We shared a two double bedded with another couple. The complex is ideal for a grand celebration, and can accommodate many non-residents for a party with live music and dining.

I have just returned from Wetherby with my family and had a fantastic trip to Yorkshire and this was all down to staying at the Priory Cottages. In fact when ever we were out for the day, all the kids kept asking was "when are we returning to the cottage?" The cottages are situated around a beautiful coutyard. Our cottage... More

We had our wedding at Priory cottages and as part of the package had full use of the cottages. The cottages were amazing, in keeping with the whole service provided at the venue. Highly recommend it to anyone who's thinking about staying/having a wedding. Peaceful setting in Picturesque surroundings

We got married here on 14 June 2014. Everything was perfect, from the assistance provided by Serena and her team every step of the way to her complete professionalism on the day. No request was too much. And as for the gorgeous accommodation... I wish we could have stayed for longer! I can't recommend Priory Cottages enough.

As for the picture taking the back drop of the Priory made some fantastic pictures as did the grounds. The whole site is closed of so you know that you are the only ones there.... More

The cottage was perfect. It was spotlessly clean and attractive with good quality fittings and attractive furniture. The setting is peaceful but within reach of York and many other attractions. We went to Benningborough Hall and the Yorkshire Air museum - both well worth a visit. Have booked another holiday at Priory Cottages.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
ion: We have 7 newly built cottages, which are architecturally in keeping with the Priory, which is believed to have been built around 1160. We have named the Cottages after the Prioresses who ruled the Priory until the dissolution of the monasteries around 1536 when it had 12 nuns in residence. The building and estate was then bequeathed to Robert Tempest by King Henry VIII and is now a working farm.Creating a new complex of cottages, courtyard gardens, preserving a barn and a Priory has been a challenge but a worthwhile one as we are sure that you will appreciate the peaceful ambience that exists amidst a fascinating mixture of ultra modern amenities, contemporary furnishings and historical artefacts and architecture. All accommodation is professionally designed and each cottage is individually styled within a different theme. They are beautifully appointed to an extremely high standard with quality contemporary furnishings and close attention to detail. Each kitchen is fully equipped with every modern convenience, including electric and microwave ovens, ceramic hob, refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer and ironing facilities. ... more   less
