My husband and I went for a night to Douneside House on a Monday night. We also took our 15 month old Jack Russell, Dorothy. We stayed in Cassa 22. It is a perfect studio apartment with a small kitchen area, a sitting area, a bed and a wet room. We all went up to the bar for a drink...

We had a family lunch here, our first visit and it certainly won't be our last, the lunch was fabulous, a limited menu with soup and sandwich selection and designer salad but it was top end, with home made bread, lovely surroundings and friendly efficient staff, we had a look at the dinner menu and again limited but we will...

This was our first visit to Douneside House and it will not be our last! The hotel has undergone a transformation apparently. What we found was a well appointed hotel, beautifully decorated and very very comfortable. Our room was lovely. We had a private roof terrace, which whilst not with a view, was great to sit on and have a...

This is a great hotel in a lovely setting. The refurbishment of the hotel is stylish, the facilities are superb and the food tops it off. We stayed over the Easter weekend and the location is ideally situated to enjoy the attractions of Royal Deeside.

We have been holidaying in Douneside House as a family for over 15 years. It therefore follows that we have always appreciated and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, beautiful surrounding, facilities and friendly staff. This was our second visit since the refurbishment and we are delighted to see how it continues to offer a unique and relaxing holiday destination while now...

We booked a last minute dinner bed and breakfast deal as a birthday treat and were looked after well from start to finish. Our room, Room 4, was a larger one with lovely views over the gardens to the front of the house and a huge bathroom with roll top bath and separate shower. The decor throughout is tasteful and...

My husband and I recently stayed at Douneside House for two nights (three days) and had a wonderful time. The service from start to finish was personal and second to none - all members of staff couldn't do enough for us. Our room was beautifully furnished, and spotless and the bathroom positively luxurious from the underfloor heating to the heated...

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a comprehensive review. I'm delighted that you both enjoyed your two nights with us - you'll need to come back and visit us in Spring when the gardens are in full bloom. Also great to hear that you managed to visit some local spots, the team and I would...

A wonderful country house that has been exquisitely refurbished to a very high standard. A beautiful setting in the heart of Aberdeenshire where relaxation and luxury meet attention to detail and friendly, personal service.

A stunning wedding in the conservatory, which has a beautiful wooden ceiling strung with lights. The staff are superb and really professional but also very approachable and friendly. There was no element of comfort and helpfulness not already thought of. The decor is excellent and both the main house and the cottages are great. Even the beds were comfortable. The...

Many thanks and I'm delighted you enjoyed attending the wedding ceremony, we thoroughly enjoyed hosting it. Thank you for the recommendation too, the beech belt is also one of my personal favourite spots, good for clearing the morning cob webs! Best wishes, Marcel
